Busying yourself with boiling some water and filling your beloved French Press with grounded coffee, you hummed to yourself, trying to ignore your fast beating heart. It might sound stupid, but you were nervous — nervous to see your boyfriend of two years after nearly three months apart.
Dating an idol was never easy, but it was especially hard during their world tours; when you had to be apart for weeks on end, relying only on text messages and hurried FaceTime calls.
You sighed again, taking a deep breath, the smell of fresh brewing coffee making you smile. If you thought about it, coffee had started it all…
You had worked in a cozy, little café as a part-timer during your first year of college, always surrounded by soft music, loud chatter and the smell of coffee. Other college students hanging around the place had been a normal occurrence, but one day one of them had been none other than Minseok, also known as Xiumin from one of the biggest boybands on the planet, EXO.
Of course, that had led to some fangirl screeching and longing gazes from most of the younger female customers, but Minseok had just politely smiled at them before giving you his order and choosing a cozy corner tucked away from prying eyes to sit down.
There, he had sat for hours on end, typing furiously on his laptop, drinking one coffee after another.
You had almost began to worry about him overdosing on caffein when he had finally closed his laptop, stretching both arms above his head and getting up from the table.
With a slight, soft smile in your direction, he had exited the café, leaving you behind with a galloping heart and small smile as well.
This had quickly become a regular occurrence — him spending hours on end in the café, drinking a surely unhealthy amount of coffee and typing away on his laptop (writing his doctor thesis, as you found out afterwards).
Sometimes when you had stopped by to bring him a freshly brewed coffee, he had made smalltalk with you, often making you smile from ear to ear. And after only two weeks of knowing him, you had already been halfway in love with his cheeky smile, soft voice and cute giggle.
After having realized your brewing feelings, you had quickly decided to take a short break from working, knowing being in love with an idol would do you no good.
After another two weeks had passed, you had finally come back to work, only to find Minseok still there, looking at the door and breaking into a breathtaking smile the second he had spotted you. Quickly getting up from his seat, he had walked over to you.
Your heart had betrayed you immediately — those two weeks had done nothing to dampen your feelings for the handsome man. Minseok had stopped right in front of you, smiling down at you, before beginning to frown slightly.
„Where were you?“, he had asked softly, eyebrows drawn together in mild confusion.
You had cleared your throat, smiling a bit awkwardly before answering. „Uh, I… took a little holiday.“, you had said half truthfully.
„Oh.“
Silence had stretched between you two, before Minseok had ran one hand through his shining hair, looking a bit sheepishly „I- I just wanted to say that I uh, I missed you.“
Your eyebrows had shot up at that, mouth hanging slightly open. „You… you- what?“
He had giggled at your confused expression. „You’re so cute.“
You had flushed a deep scarlet at his words, heart galloping loudly in your chest.
„I said I missed you. The other workers always seem to judge the amount of coffee I drink — you don’t. You just bring me another cup every time it’s empty and that’s it.“, he had joked, tilting his head a little to the side and grinning at you in earnest now.
You had laughed at that. „Oh, don’t be mistaken — I do judge you, a lot actually. But you’re also one of our best customers and you give great tips, so I would never say anything against your unhealthy caffeine addiction.“, you had teased right back, nearly smiling from ear to ear.
He had laughed as well, crossing both arms over his chest and raising one eyebrow in a silent challenge. „Maybe I should frequent another café then, where I won’t be judged for my addiction.“
You had hastily shaken your head at his playful words. „No, don’t! Because I… uh, I guess I would miss you, too.“
At that, he had really had the audacity to wink at you.
You smiled at the memory, heart full of happiness and love. Now you could wait even less for your boyfriend to finally come home. Filling one of the mugs with the freshly brewed coffee, you took another deep breath, enjoying the familiar scent.
At that moment, you heard the front door open.
„Y/N?“
You smiled when you heard your favorite voice in the whole world, quickly placing the mug back onto the kitchen counter and turning around to run into the already waiting, open arms of your boyfriend.
omg the thunderstorm scenario was super cute (ˊ˘ˋ*)♡ both kyungsoo and minseok's esp because i'm afraid of the dark too hahahah your writing is amazing!! i hope you're doing well and are healthy!!
Aww thank you so much! I’m really glad that you liked them!
Hello, Ali! Can you write me a Kyungsoo and Minseok fluff? So you and him are in the different parts of the house during a thunderstorm and the lights suddenly go out. You ask him to come and get you cause you're terrified of the dark (I'm 19 and I still do..haha). Thank you! (ps this is one of the best scenario blogs I've come across)
Hey :) Just finished both of them! They were so cute to write, especially the Minseok one (I had more time to write that one, so it probably turned out better than the Kyungsoo one). Hope you like them and let me know what you think :) You can find them here (Kyungsoo) and here (Minseok).
