Inspired by a post by @bumble-bitch-sanders and the following conversation with @ronnirotten and @saviourofawakingworld I made an intruality baking AU. I hope it’s alright that I stole the baking idea it’s just too good to pass on tbh and now I’m making it a thing. Well let’s pack out the headcanons for the first meeting:

Patton and Remus both have pretty stable bakeries in town and they get invited to a bake-off between a few bakers on local television

Patton loves the cutesy stuff like animal donuts and cake pops and pretty cakes. He’s quite creative and did some bigger cakes on comission but he mostly does more traditional desserts, cherry and apple pie, cheesecakes, brownies and cupcakes. But from time to time you can find him putting some of the cuter things on the counter

Remus on the other hand does things a little different. He’s really good at baking (Patton too, but like wait a minute) and everyone loves his baking but he has had a problem for a long time. He has impulse control issues and often does things or blurts out stuff that might even embarrass him sometimes. This happened while baking a few times already and his creations were… not that pretty to look at I have to admit. There are a few very weird things he did, like putting a whole jars worth of Nutella on a cake or dump all and I mean ALL the sweets in the house on the tiniest cupcakes. Got really messy (and he is a very messy baker already). But because he’s got some really creative bones in his body he tried to channel his weird impulses in his cake decoration. That lead to him creating some pretty impressive stuff but they’re either freaking weird or just plain dark. He realized people actually like it and started selling the cakes and desserts

Because of that Patton’s kinda wary of him. Sure he’s impressed by the creativity and the taste but like who and why???? So he kinda ignores that weird guy with the weird mustache

Remus too has already heard of Patton’s bakery but after the initial ‘oh he cute’ he thinks that Patton’s tiny desserts take no time at all and are nothing special

One of the rounds in the competition has the baker choose one of their own creations they already did and the jury pairs two up to bake against each other. They have to try to recreate the others dessert. And of course they put Patton and Remus together

Remus gets to bake some cacti oreo cupcakes and Patton does a tentacle monster inside a cake (which is amazing i saw that and was like “REMUS??? is that you??”)

They talk while baking because honestly they don’t know anything about each other and judging someone without knowing them is just bull crap

They become friends. Meanwhile Patton finds out why Remus bakes the way he does and Remus has the hardest time doing all these goddamn tiny flowers

They tie at the end and split the prize money (’what counts are the friends we made along the way’ or some shit like that)

They keep their friendship up and somehow someday get together.

I just wanted to redraw these when I found them (and also add some D to that LAMP and a little highschool au) and I love it!

(Dee and Roman are already together. Patton and Virgil meet when Virgil moves into Patton’s city. They live in the city next to the one Dee and Roman are in. Logan goes to school in another neighbor city. They all meet at some fair, a school sport game or another meet-up between the schools. The coup is that most of them lived this close together and never really met.)

Patton: cyan, red-orange Roman: red, light blue Virgil: yellow, dark blue Logan: mint, pink Dee: magenta, yellow-green

I was thinking of some headcanons while drawing so you get them too:

Dee always walks around like a runway model both clothing and attitude wise

Roman loves it

They both get all the main parts in theater club

They’re very dramatic, sometimes they fight so vicious the whole school hears is, people bet on how many hours it takes this time until they make up again

Roman is insecure about his height

Dee loves his height, very hug-able

Dee only lets his soulmates touch him, strangers make him uncomfortable

Virgil has natural curls but straightens them as long as he has enough motivation

Patton cares for the animals in his school’s petting zoo

Logan and Dee already met, they’re both part of their respective school’s decathlon teams (not that they know that they’re soulmates)

Patton just wanted to make friends with the new kid, grabbed his hand in the halls and now has a soulmate who doesn’t actually want a soulmate :(

Virgil had some bad memories of the concept of soulmates

his parents were soulmates but hid dad was an abusive asshole and Virgil, his mom and his younger twin siblings ran away

It took two months until Virgil was comfortable enough to start meeting up with Patton and opening up to the idea of soulmates

he did copy Pats homework in that time though

i take back the meet-up thing from before Virgil and Logan meet in the library in one of the cities in the most cliche way

Logan can’t get to one of the books on the higher shelves so Virgil decides to help, Logan gets startled, they touch and Virgil’s confused because??? two?? soulmates????

they meet up, Patton sees Logan and Virgil holding hands, runs up to them and just hugs the living crap out of them

Logan joins their meet ups

Logan and Dee befriend each other since they both learn to be opener with other people and they feel a connection

it’s still Roman and Patton who actually find out they’re soulmates

Pat, Virgil and Ro are supportive boyfriends and visit one of the decathlons Dee and Logan both compete at

Pat bought sandwiches with him and offers one to Roman

Roman takes it, they touch, they stare at each other, nervous flustered Roman stuffs his face full with sandwich and nearly chokes xD 

having more than two soulmates is incredibly rare- whoops I got four i guess

Roman and Patton are cuddle kings, the other three are more hesitant about being touched but Ro and Pat can always count on each other to be hug-ready (they’re always hug-ready for the others too though)

y’all have no idea how much fun i had with the different hair colors <3 so much better than everyone having brown hair

Roman dyes his hair different colors all the time

Virgil can sleep better when his soulmates are there

Logan looks like he’d hate any contact with any human being ever, which is also why he doesn’t have too many friends, but he actually doesn’t mind touching as long as it’s not too excessive or it doesn’t hinder him at what ever task he has to do right now

funfact: the first time you touch your soulmate the skin where you touched gets warmer and begins emitting light so you don’t frickin’ miss that your life just took a 180 degrees turn
