Just imagining that the hisuian pokemon not knowing/understanding modern objects like batteries and TVs are.

Gliscor learns that his new joltik kids eat "electricity" and goes out and hunts down emolgas for the baby joltiks, cause electric pokemons are the only source of electricity he knows. Lmao. Ingo is unphased at the dead emolgas and Emmet is like, "wtf, Ingo you're cleaning that up"

Alakazam is mystified by the TV. How come the tiny people cannot see or hear them, even telepathically? Yet they can see and hear the tiny TV people. Fascinating.

Oh no! Poor Emolga! I think the first time Gliscor brings back a hunt fur the Joltiks Ingo would make sure he understands that that won’t be necessary. While Ingo may understand and be unfazed by that behavior, he’d still want to minimize the unnecessary death of pokemon. (Emmet makes everyone present, pokemon included, promise to never tell Elesa or her pokemon about this.)

 But yes!! There will be funny moments of time displaced pokemon interacting with modern devices. Alakazam and the wonders of television is for sure one of them 🤣

Like at some point Akari and Ingo come across a vending machine with snacks and drinks and the like. They start using the battle wins money to get what they need but is keeps spitting out the bill they are trying to insert. Then Ingo’s Machamp tries to help and just… picks up the machine and starts trying to shake the items free. Ingo and Akari try to tell him to put it down and that that’s theft, but he doesn’t understand?? He just wants to help!

There also the existence of bikes and cars freaks them out at first. Sneasler actively avoids any busy roads that she hears, leading the group away from them as they travel.

Also, Poor poor Mint, their bike is totally destroyed by Ingo and Akari’s pokemon. It was an accident, they didn’t know what it was, but Mint thought it was intentional and that’s part of why they are so determine to chase Ingo and Akari down personally! For vengeance!

Also Blaze has a motorcycle because of course he does 🔥

You know those ledges that you can jump off of, but not climb up on? Ingo's not even bothered. It's just a short ledge he barely even need to climb, like he can just clamber himself on it, it's not even a sheer cliff.

Yes! Ingo and Akari would both have no issues with those ledges, or the thick forest that surrounds the roads. They are no longer bound by the limitations of the 2D map!!

While everyone else chasing them on bikes or on those four wheelers will have to go around since they still can’t go over the ledges lol

I’m just picturing Mint crashing their bike right into a ledge when they are tying to chase them early on 🤣

There is a distressingly high number of Elite Four+ level trainers gearing up to fight God in the aftermath.

And i mean distressing for Arceus.

There's Palmer, Raihan, Gloria, N, Iris, Drayden, Volkner, Flint, Bede, Marnie probably some of Palmer's fellow Brains, maybe the BW/2 protags, and possibly others if you decide to throw in any other notable characters from other regions.

They are willing to pull God down from Heaven to make him eat dirt.

Somewhere in the distortion world, Giratina is chortling into the void.

Luckily for Arceus, there’s a chain reaction of telephone from Johanna’s reminding everyone to tell their loved ones they’re not dead. By the end of the next day, everyone who needs to know, knows that the group is alive and somewhere safe, there’s even a press conference that confirms this, although their location is not officially known at this time. 

Cynthia and Rowan get a call from Johanna herself to tell them that night. Which is great because Cynthia and Looker had been dealing with one blubbering and damn near inconsolable Mint for the past hour. Though the moment they are informed that the group is alive and well, Mint jumps up and steals Cynthia‘s phone. In the scuffle to take it back they scream over the line that they all better be alive cause Mint are gonna kill them!! How dare they leave them behind! After everything the great Mint’s done for them!!

Johanna is holding her phone far from her ear, allowing everyone in the room to hear Mint’s tirade. Ingo and Akari are trying so hard not to laugh but fail.

Yes! Blaze and his love of dog pokemon will deff be an actual in universe meme among the group chat later in the au. Every time Mint sees a doggo they take a pic and send it to the chat with a joke of some kind. Blaze does not mind this at all because he gets to see more dog pictures.

Omfg Scald becoming known to the internet. He was someone who purposely kept his face out of media largely so he won’t be recognized on jobs. But then when news hits that the egg basket was dropped by a Flora hired security and its leaked that he’s the one to have done in, everyone piles on and hates him.

At first there are those who are trying to defend him, because this might just be some security guard who made a honest mistake and is now being torn to shreds by the public. But then the internet keeps trying to dig up more on this guy, especially after an egg is confirmed to have been compromised. And holy fuck, they dig up some legit evidence on this dude that could connect him to Allot of shady shit.

Suddenly the big question is why is This Guy working for the Flora Labs??? And the memeing intensifies.

The public seen villians are the three starter types!! Didn’t even realize that 😆

Blaze/fire, Belladonna/grass, Scald/water, and then behind the scenes there’s Sarin who specializes in poison type.

Omfg Caitlin… so she’s the most obvious connection between the two games but she also clearly aged between them which will need to be ignored for this story 😅

Because with how I have the timeline planned, the events of BW and BW2 happen before Dawns pokemon journey. So Caitlin would be official an Unovan elite Four member but still come out to Sinnoh to work at the Battle Frontier. (This could be why she’s always sleeping, she’s so jetlagged from her travels 😆)

Caitlin and Cynthia would still be besties and they are both friends with Elesa which will come up in the fic at some point for sure.

And yes!! The sudden heel turn of everyone who had been deceived by the lab and refused to budge when the evidence started building. Many are forgiven because they genuinely only wanted to help the pokemon who were said to be in danger. Most are now working to help the pokemon who were harmed by the labs which definitely helps their image.

ooo Mint is the grandchild right? sorry if they're not i dont have the best memory, but that's actually such a funny first real talk tbh, poor Mint is just dripping wet, they probably have to stop the convo halfway first give them a blanket or dry them up before continuing.

You’re good! Tumblr is weird sometimes, so better safe than sorry!

And yeah! They are, and they’re trying to look so dignified and cool as the demand answers from the two, but it is not working. They are dripping, they’re curls are limp and sad, and their make up has started to run. They look a mess, but they refuse to acknowledge it! They are the ones asking the questions here!!

Despite all the questions they ask, they never slow down to give the two a chance to answer. Mint just jumps from question to question, some of them coming from the conspiracy theories that they have been reading online, and barely pauses long enough for either of them to get a word in.

Sneasler is, at first, very amused at this mini Melli. But then she just gets annoyed and wanders off into the woods to escape the chatter.

When Mint sneezes Ingo has had enough and tosses a blanket at them to dry off with. Mint, of course, immediately insults the blanket and demands to know when it had last been washed. They still use it to dry off but complain the entire time.

Akari tries to get through to them and say her piece on what’s happening but gets a sarcastic “pft, a likely story” for her trouble.

They may not be able to convince them of their innocence at the time, but they do leave an impression on them. 

Oh! And additional thought, this would also be when Mint first sees a Hisui Voltorb and they absolutely love this perfectly spherical happy time bomb.

Akari and Ingo telling stories of Melli to Mint after all the drama though- how Melli would be very proud of Mint and such too!

Akari and Ingo joking about how they might be a reincarnation of Melli actually though and Mint overhearing and just freaks out in both a good and bad way. They can't decide if they should feel insulted or honored.

So the thing about Melli is that he canonly use to be very shy and withdrawn as a kid until he one day declared he was going to help Adaman, after which he became so optimistic and self-assured to an extreme. 

When Mint meets Ingo and Akari they still don’t know what they want to do with their life. They don’t have any real passions and tend to be more pessimistic. They also have to deal with their grandma’s neglect and disappointment.  

But over the story they gain more confidence and find their passion in how much they love and care for pokemon. They already adored looking after their own partners, but they had no idea how rewarding it felt to care for other Pokémon as well. By the end they acquire both a shy Stunky they rescued from the labs who adores them and a Hisui Voltorb from Ingo and Akari who is so sweet but also so dumb and Mint loves them.

By the time everything is over, they share allot more with their ancestor than just their looks. While they don’t quite reach Melli’s levels of self-assured optimism, they are definitely someone Melli would be so very proud of.

(Akari and Ingo low key subscribe to the idea that Mint could be a Melli reincarnation. Ingo ponders how introducing them to Clay could go, remembering the friendly(?) rivalry between Melli and Lian.)

There is no way Melli didn’t take full advantage of that photo studio and just hand out pictures of himself as gifts to people. This man’s image pops up allot in the history books in Hisui because of just how many times he shamelessly photo bombs every picture that was taken within his radius. Historians believe he might have been Hisui’s first ever model, or a public figure of great importance. He was not, but he likely liked to think that he was.

So when Akari and Ingo start telling Mint about Melli they have plenty of pictures to show them before they even open either of their momento books. Mint takes one look at his flamboyant gender nonconforming style and posing and sheer confidence and they are blown away.

They would definitely more on the honored side of being descended from Melli.  After all, he was a Warden! Like Ingo! And he helped Akari save the world!

(Melli would NOT appreciate his greatness being measured by Ingo also being warden, but he can’t win everything lol)

I feel like there was an occasion when Sneasler tried to fit both Ingo and Emmet into the basket at once. Akari caught that picture and it became Elesa’s phone background for a while.

Lol the Spacial Rend meme is for both wanting to be out of a place they don’t like, and for wanting to instantly visit family/friends who are entire regions away.

I’m pretty sure the Professor Hop meme escapes confinement thanks to Gloria and Hop’s fans start using the tag to send him support. He is both very flattered and embarrassed but handles it like a champ!

Oh yes, protective Ingo is the stuff of legends. Most everyone in the family/friend group has been the ‘target’ of his protection on one occasion or another. From defending Emmet from harassment in public as you said above, to gently pulling Mint aside and questioning their choice of the date they brought to the Holiday diner. Ingo and Emmet respects Mints choices, but if this new boyfriend steps a pinky toe out of line, he won’t know what hit him! (It’ll be a train)

And yes! Poor Emmet, the daughter rumors seem to never go away. At least the family know that the only two legged sibling the joltiks have is their gligar baby sister 🤣

Love the detail of Mint having a Crobat while Belladonna only has a Golbat. Maybe you could have one of Belladonna's pokemon use a full power Frustration? It's another subtle way to show off how awful a pokemon trainer is since Frustration gets more powerful the less friendship a pokemon has like Ghetsis' Hydreigon just another subtle pokemon detail to add some spice I love all the stuff goin around and I hope you have a wonderful day

I kinda want to make it the Parasect because that’s just too funny to me, but I feel like  thematically it should be the Skuntank. For the Pokémon who hates her the most to be the one that was so beloved by her ancestor I think is fitting to show how far she strayed from Melli.

Also I don’t know what becomes of pokemon who’s trainers are arrested. Perhaps they offer them to next of kin, and I could see Mint being the one person in the family volunteering to take in Skuntank. They know how badly their grandma had treated him so they would want to give this elegant pokemon the life and friendship he deserves!!
