back to being friends by sombr except it's me and my ex best friend slowly growing slightly closer again but we see the ghost of each other there. it is for old times sake. there is pain and love in her eyes. i see the same stars i saw at nine years old when i look at the sky and i think of her when i am alone. my first instinct is to call her. i hear her name and i cry sometimes. she and i promised there was no bad blood. i still love her sometimes. she was my mike wheeler i loved her for years and i told her and for a while she didn't want to touch me at all. and now she gets to move on and be happy and now she likes girls too even if she denies it to everyone. and she loves her best friend now and she has her own mike wheeler. and "i have the feeling you got everything you wanted, and you're not wasting time stuck here like me" makes me cry because she gets to move on and be happy and i have to be will fucking byers who loved his best friend and hated himself for it and i ended our friendship. on purpose. because i was so happy, for a moment, to not be worshipping her, and i thought it better to live a life without faith. and she finally loved me back, as a friend. and i ended our friendship on purpose because after five years i couldn't help but feel sick. sick of loving her a way she didn't love me and sick of hating myself for it. and now im somewhere on the aromantic spectrum and sometimes i worry she was the only person ill ever have truly loved so how's everyone else doing

"most people grow up and they move away, but you don't care and i don't mind at all" this lyric felt like a punch to the gut bc it made me realize that my old best friend who moved last summer really isn't coming back. this lyric makes me feel the opposite of the words it says. "i don't mind being your dead end, i think it's fine to never move on, keep my ear up to the doorframe, and i'll keep rooting for your downfall" but it's me who wants the best for my ex best friend but also wants her to hate her new friends and new everything and come back to me so we can be kids together again. "do you remember crying for all them horses? they did not look scared at all" so i may or may not have sobbed?
