the things i do for site development ...
for anyone aware of Simple Yet Stupid's existence:
went through the trials and tribulations last week after being inspired by a qpp of mine to pick up Adobe Animate again. i got good news:
the SYS cast is in Abobe Animate now. after like maybe 2 years of turmoil, most of which was spent staring at the Animate 2019 (and 2024) icon with extreme distaste, they can stop living their lives stuck on a CLIP STUDIO PAINT canvas. one step closer to "escaping" their so-called "Episode 0" purgatory
if you look at the previous "Key Height Test" reference sheet (which i refer to as "KHT3"), you'll notice that these assets are virtually the same. but guess what? they aren't actually that 1:1. i think i'd pop a blood vessel if i sunk the extra time into doing that. they're about 97% accurate—which is, in my words, "good enough."
for the sake of simple render things and art stuff, i will use the CLIP STUDIO PAINT (CSP) versions. for animation things, i will use the Animate (FLA) versions. mainly because Animate is everything but an art program in my eyes (don't get me started). at least animation will be less of a pipe dream now...
