Finwëan Ladies’ Week Day 6: Original Characters (or, in this case, textual ghost)
Minuial, Princess of the Reunited Kingdom, Daughter of King Aragorn II Elessar and Queen Arwen Undómiel
Minuial Elessariel was the second child of the King and Queen of the Reunited Kingdom. She was born shortly after the War of the Ring, second only to her brother Eldarion.
Just like her brother, Minuial felt close kin- and friendship with the last elves of Middle-earth in their settlement at Cair Andros, and she spent much of her time growing up there. There was deep love between her and the daughter of the Lord of Cair Andros that she helped raise, and when the time came for these Firstborn to leave Middle-earth as well, Minuial was heavy with grief.
While Minuial followed her parents’ wish to learn the basics of attack and defense in case of emergencies, her true passions lay with horses and music. She became an accomplished flute player as a young child already.
Eldarion and Minuial grew up peacefully, facing tragedy, battle and death only when they were 20 years old and new dangers from Mordor threatened Gondor. When their father decided to take the fight to the last of hostile dark creatures there, in an attempt to finish this conflict once and for all, Minuial begged Aragorn to be allowed to come with him. Since she was the only member of the royal family in safety at this point, as her brother was in the hands of the enemies and Arwen had set out to free him, Aragorn denied Minuial her wish and asked her to step up to the throne in case none of them would return.
Her life-long love for horses had Minuial quickly bond with the son of the King of their neighboring Kingdom Rohan when they first met. Elfwine and she shared an intense, fierce romantic partnership for many decades and gave the country two healthy heirs. Thanks to the Firstborn blood in her veins, Minuial outlived her husband easily and was struck deeply by his timely death.
After relinquishing the throne to her eldest daughter, Minuial left Rohan to depart for unknown realms and was not seen by her family again.
