I want you all to know that @busymagpie is a goddess, and I want to marry her. Since I love every piece of art that this wonderful artist does, both nsfw and sfw, I decided some time ago to commission her with an art for my “The Lord of the Rings”-series. And busy worked in every single detail that I had in mind for this piece. I can’t tell you what I love most about this whole thing. From the shading to the lighting, from the expressions to the positions, the whole setup and all the wonderful details, this is just perfect in every way.
About the scene: The image shows Legolas with his wife Tarisilya in Legolas’ canonical elf settlement in North Ithilien. A couple of years after the war, they’re enjoying a moment of peace and passion. Chilling in the corner is Ilya’s cat Conuiril. Ilya is wearing Elcaradur, a jewelry Thranduil gave her, with a retractable gem that an image of a beloved family member is carved into. Pictured on the table nearby is the circlet Legolas is wearing as Lord of Cair Andros, a gift from Lady Galadriel, with Aldalíen, the gem of nature, embedded. Also shown is the latest version of The Book of the Watcher, a personalized chronicle of elfdom that Erestor started on in the First Age and that Ilya continued on after the War of the Ring, and her own version of it, with the moon on the cover that is her namesake.
Busy managed to include all this little things that I have been dying to see in image for so long just as perfectly as the characters themselves. I can’t stop looking at my Mirkwood boi and the wifey <3. It was especially important for me that we see Legolas with his hair down since he decided to ditch his warrior braids in my verse after the war, unless any bad battle would ever find the lands of Middle-earth once more. Also, we all know that we were robbed, never seeing those scenes with movie Legolas in Ithilien that they shot with his hair down.
I’m running out of words to tell dear busy how wonderful an artist she is, so if you can spare a minute? You do it <3.
