just thinking about the fact that steve, while doing sports shit- would have had to learn strategy, pouring over play books for his next game for hours etc - plus he was captain so he would've formed his own game plans for the team sometimes
so- if the gang just took 5 damn minutes to draw out plans like a basketball game when explaining, steve would literally keep up with them with ease
