I like the motion in the ocean - so much mystery. I’m posting this due to a major concern about the consumption of plastic. We can reduce our impact in several ways like not using plastic bags-easy re bag it! And not paying for it in those multi snack packs that seem to be so convenient or just plane plastic trash that accompanies most products we consume-daily. It all comes back around and if you eat fish in particular you may be ingesting micro plastics with it. The problem beyond what’s seen with that issue is what you can not see, Micro Plastics and even microfiber (many garments) pollute down to a microscopic level. This is extremely bad for any living organism as these micro particles attract chemicals and can penetrate cell walls like yours and mine. This recently has become more apparent and with the right choices we can make a huge impact. I constantly go back to the ocean because it does something to me. It wakes me up. It’s this intense combination of joy and play and fear and emotion, it becomes therapy. It’s a draw and connection that isn’t always as easy to find on land. The more time I spend in the ocean, the more comfortable I feel there - but simultaneously recognizing it’s massive force. I am afraid of the ocean. When the waves pump heavier than my lungs. When I think about it’s insane depths and the creatures that sore under my feet. Its ability to take me wherever it wants to take me. Its never-ending-ness. Its ability to give and take away.  Feeling like i’m running out of breath and coming back up and receiving life. - Recently decided to make a commitment to the ocean. Was inspired by the folks @parley.tv to avoid all plastic waste for 30 days and document what that’s like. It’s a simple pledge i’ve made to stand by something I think we could be doing better at.
