The light had always been home to Minnie Mouse. As the princess of light, she was born into it, destined to protect it. She never imagined that in that quest to protect goodness, it would lead her down impossible paths. The day her life changed was the day she met Michael Mouse. A young apprentice of Merlin, the man had caught her attention. He certainly wasn’t a prince, but he had the heart of one. Mickey wanted to protect people, and Minnie held the same sentiments. They fell in love easily. Eventually, the two married and became king and queen of the light. Mickey always had big plans, and Minnie was the first to support them. The idea of a utopia where they could protect the light seemed like a wonderful idea. Their reach would be easier than being in a far-off kingdom. In Elias, they would be able to help more people. Minnie took her role within the city seriously. She was in the community every opportunity she got. She loved giving back and lending a helping hand where she could. Minnie loved Elias with every fiber of her being. It was hard to sit and watch Mickey hide himself away from a city he was meant to protect. The answer was always the same; it was easier for him to do work in his office. The people didn’t need to see him to believe him. He was doing his job of protecting the city. Minnie believed him wholeheartedly. Why wouldn’t she? Mickey had never given her a reason to doubt. When whispers of Maleficent came about, Minnie believed that Mickey, Donald, and Goofy would be able to protect the light just as they always had. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case this time. When his staff was stolen, Minnie stood beside him. Minnie stood beside him when dangerous artifacts were stolen from his personal archives. Minnie's faith wavered as monsters and war waged on her beloved city. As Mickey hid, the city was being ripped apart. Minnie could no longer sit and watch as her husband did nothing. Minnie sought out the help of Merlin. Surely, there was something the great wizard could do to stop Maleficent. By the time she sought his help, it was too late. The city would have been shrouded in darkness had it not been for the brave citizens of Elias. It was Minnie who watched the light leave Maleficent’s eyes. Before she succumbed to her wounds, the mistress of Evil asked the queen to make sure her son was safe in the care of Howl Pendragon. As much as Minnie wanted to deny the request, her kind heart begged to do this one nice thing. So, she honored the request. A new fire was set in Minnie. With the aid of Merlin, the two of them tracked Mickey down. As much as Minnie loved Mickey, she could no longer travel down the path he had chosen. She exiled Mickey from Elias. As well as divorce him. It would be better if they parted. The damage that was done was irreversible. Elias was broken, but Minnie took it upon herself to rebuild it. Not one person should be in charge or have so much power, so she created the council. She sought the aid of the best candidates who would help Elias. Together, they would bring back Elias better than ever. Minnie knows that people are weary, that trust is not so easily given after being failed, but Minnie will do what she has to in order to keep Elias safe. She promises to keep her people safe and stands by that oath. She won’t fail them the way Mickey had.
