Field Research

Went to the PA Faire today (two years since I was there last; 8 years since my first year working there)

Broke my bow while stringing it (albiet, it was old, and not the best quality)

Participated in an archery tournament with an English Longbow--not at full draw-weight, though (got a bullseye; points put me in fourth, which I had a "sudden death" match for, and won)

Got blooded by one of the spikes of a morning star

Drank meade and ate meat

All you new followers!

I'm gonna take a wild guess, since I got a surge after tagging landscape photos more in-depth, that some of you (if not all) might think this is something of a nature blog? Or a landscape blog?

Well, I hate to disappoint you, but it's not.

But wait, don't go yet. Take a look around, if you haven't. This is an inspirational place for me to collect images for a medieval fantasy world I've been creating for the past decade, for a series of books I'm in the planning stages of writing. This is a place to introduce people to this world that I've fallen in love with, that I hope other people will also fall in love with.

So, while there will be plenty of images of gorgeous scenery, there is also content about my world. There will be snippets of writing, of character-building. There will be mythologies, histories, cultural aspects.

And, if it interests you, let me know. Ask questions, leave comments. I love to hear what other people are thinking about my world.

You’ve added some great stuff lately, I just got caught up on all the imagery.

Thanks! I actually have a queue going--so there's still more imagery. I almost feel bad for having primarily photos and pictures instead of more information about the world, but I've been really busy with life recently, and haven't been able to devote the time I would like to writing.

But the pictures inspire me, and that's what it's all about on here.

(though it is kind of exciting that since I've actually started tagging these pictures with proper tagging, I have a sudden growth in followers!)

I did intend to have an 'ask me anything' but can't see where that feature is.

I know settings and options are different theme to theme, and it seems some themes don't have certain options at all--though it's been a while since I looked at them on a real computer. The option, if indeed it is there, should be under a links list or something within the "Customize Theme" option.Also, perhaps some inspiratik for you, if you haven't already found it: blog called Itsfullofstars. Great astronomy/universe blog.

The musical project (Dragon Scales/Eggs) has taken two directions. Digitally composing it on my Mac versus simply sitting behind my Yamaha with a camera recording me playing it live. In the end, both will likely materialize. Struggling with the fact I seem to be able to 'compose' stuff that is too difficult for me to play. I really enjoy playing live with my band, so stuff I can't play live for a crowd really bothers me. On the pulsar thing, I'm out of characters so that will have to wait. -AR

I am anticipating hearing these projects the more you talk about them--it's not often a writer hears someone was so inspired as to write, of all things, music based off that writer's creations! I eagerly await more neutron/pulsar aspect of this back and forth. Annoying that tumblr has a limit now on questions--it didn't use to be like that, but for whatever reason it was changed.

Glad someone already cleared up the fact that I am not Bruce Wayne. Just to be clear, I asked two other anonymous questions on this blog. And I'm not going out of my way to ask you anonymous questions, I simply choose to not have an account. I know that might sound like BS, but I have shut down my FB account after dealing with far too much BS there. So as to no longer be anonymous, and in keeping with the fictional industrialist theme, I'll be Andrew Ryan.

I don't think not having an account is bullshit, I just like to give anonymous people a bit of a hard time as I try and figure out the mystery of who they are. I shut down my FaceBook over a year ago for a similar reason--way too much drama mongering.I think you are the only person who has asked questions on this blog, seeing as how aside from this, there are only two others :) I was merely postulating who you might be since you asked the last Miomir question on my personal blog. Didn't mean to insult, just trying to connect the dots.Thanks for asking about Miomir and talking with me, Andrew Ryan--I do enjoy what we've done so far.
