I got tagged and I'm bored so I'm making you do this toooooo!
Rule 1: Always post the rules.
Rule 2: Answer the questions the person who tagged you has written and write 10 new ones.
Rule 3: Tag 10 new people and link them to your post.
Rule 4: Let them know you’ve tagged them.
1) Do you prefer sweet or salty foods?
Salty! Well, I guess I'd say savory - as in, I don't like really salty foods, but I don't have a sweet tooth, either. I blame working in a candy store in Colonial Williamsburg all through high school.
I can't stand cloyingly sweet foods. Every once in a while (cough, cough HOLIDAYS), I go on a sweet food binge and it's hard to break the sugar addiction. Once I can get off the sugar wagon, I'm usually good for a while though. However, I love chocolate - especially dark chocolate.
2) What is the most interesting place you have ever visited?
Alaska. Hands-down. I've loved so many of the places I've been, but Alaska has so many different kinds of places to explore, from just offshore to the incredible mountains. Plus, the wildlife ... oh god the wildlife. Do not even get me started on the food - like wild caught salmon.
3) If you could own any car in the world, which one would you choose?
Damn this is hard. I've always wanted a lime green 1970 Plymouth Barracuda - with the shaker hood option. With the hemi, of course, because I will always be a "just haaaaddd to get the GT" type of girl. (Not that the 70 cuda had a GT trim level. But that's a quick holler back to my GT Tiburon ... and my ridiculous tendency to go above and beyond the necessary.)
4) When you travel, do you prefer to go by foot, car, train or plane?
This really depends on where - and how far - I'm going. Around the city, I prefer biking when I can. And I need to get a new bike, actually. I love road bikes, and there is something so satisfying about biking. Plus, the exercise.
Otherwise for longer travel, I love trains. Something so easy and passive about the train. Don't have to worry about traffic. Don't have to stop for gas. Can get drunk, if that's your thang.
5) If there was technology that could tell you the exact time and date of your death, would you want to know it?
Knowing that this doesn't exist ... I say no. However, having the option to know would drive me insane. I would probably find out to calm my nervous brain and then I would spend the rest of my life full of dread.
6) What kind of movies would you direct if you were a director?
That is TOUGH. I don't know how to describe them really, so I'll throw a director out there whose movies I really like: Sam Mendes. I love movies about real people, with enough levity to balance out the gravity of the lives unfolding on screen. I would hope I'm a good enough storyteller to make that happen if I were directing.
7) Are you good at making and sticking to plans?
HAHAHA! NOPE. Not usually. Well, I'm terrific at making plans, and terrible at the follow through. So, I try not to be too thorough, in case things don't work out quite exactly as I'd hoped.
8) What is your least favorite chore around the house?
Taking out the trash. I hate it. Hate hate hate hate hate. I always get nasty ass trash juice on my feet, and I fucking hate it. It ruins my day.
9) If you had the opportunity to explore outer space, would you take it?
Hmmm - that choice would have a lot to do with what Earth was like at the time. I think I'd eventually go stir crazy, especially if landing on a planet and getting "outside" weren't options. This answer might be boring ... but I think I'm ok here on Earth, at this point. Though, throw me into Dan Simmon's Hyperion universe ... and I am THERE.
10) Do you use any antique technology on a regular basis?
Other than Microsoft Word? (I kid, I kid ... sort of.)
So, this question is problematic. What parameters define antique technology? At what point is something antique? When does it "become" antique? And the farther we look back, what constitutes technology? When did new inventions or new techniques become technology?
Alright, I'm tagging 10 of you wonderful, lovely, sexy people who I think are all kinds of amazing. BUT! Don't feel obligated. If you hate these things, please feel free to ignore me =) I'm just bored at work and want to know you betttterrrr. And maybe you're bored and work too and want to waste some time answering my silly questions. Hehe =)
Lets get to know each other. What are your top 5 movies?
What's your favorite book title? Not favorite book, favorite title.
Have you ever done something that most individuals in your society consider wrong, but it's something that has a positive impact on your life? If yes, what? If no, have you ever been tempted?
Which organized religion (including cults and fundamentalist offshoots) scares you the most?
Ok, those last ones were a bit heavy. If you could chose one fictional "universe" to live in from a book, a movie or TV show, which universe would you choose?
If you and I were BFFs, and I called you from jail saying I needed help bonding out ... who would be YOUR first phone call after hanging up with me, and why?
Who taught you how to cook? And if your answer is, "Um, actually I don't cook?" ... why not?
If you read a book written by a friend, and you discovered that they used you as a character in the book, how would you feel? (I'm uh, asking for a ... friend. Yea. Not for me. At all.)
Are you mad that I just lied to you about "asking #8 for a friend?"
How would you react if you ran into someone you follow on tumblr in real life? Assuming you don't know them otherwise, of course.
Also, even though none of you care, because my work PC is exceptionally shitty and doesn't play nice with Tumblr - especially when adding text - I hand-coded this post. AND without referencing my bible: w3schools, bitches! only referencing w3schools twice!
