One of my fav loan words is "missata" (puhekieli tho) . I suppose it comes from english "to miss" , but the meaning is slightly changed. You can say "missasin bussin" = "i missed the bus" but absolutely NOT "missaan mun eksää" =???. Other correct examples would be "missasin jääkiekkofinaalin" or "älä missaa huomisen luentoa".

I’ve noticed this one too! It was a bit confusing at first.

For example, “I missed the bus” would be something like “Minä en ehtinyt bussiin”.

"olla puutteessa" literal meaning is to be in need of something. but when used without specifying the need, it is generally understood to be in need of sex :D

Every now and then i use a random word, and start wondering "does lily know about this? She should." Today that word is verb "sukuloida". (Sukuloin, sukuloit, sukuloimme, sukuloidaan, similar conjugation to "voida") It's a great word to vaguely describe meeting relatives. Can be any relatives, can be you visiting them, or meeting them somewhere. Example: "Olimme viikonloppuna sukuloimassa ja nyt väsyttää."

I also love these kinds of verbs because they are super easy to remember, and also to conjugate:

suku - relativesukuloida - to visit relatives

imuri - vacuumimuroida - to vacuum 

Plus lots of loanwords: 

investoida - to invest kopioida - to copy inspiroida - to inspire

I have not! I haven’t even learnt them AS dog breeds, but please do share!
