Yay! I made Adrien as a Gem! So… yeah, this is a pretty rough concept, but I thought it would be cool if Adrien was a Diamond since Marinette is a pebble, which is the least impressive Gem. Also the lore works out really cool—listen to this:
So Black Diamond was one of the Diamonds on Home-world, but got tired of all the rules and restrictions and decided to leave with a select group of other aristocratic gems. (These Gems form the original Miracle Gems.) Eventually she landed on earth, and took on the human persona of Emilie, and fell in love. She married Gabriel, and disappeared strangely the day Adrien was born, Leaving Gabriel devastated and confused. However, Adrien does not have a gem embedded in his body like Steven does—instead, he has a ring, which is a keepsake left behind by his mother and passed down to him, embedded with a large Black Diamond. (I didn’t draw it big, but it is.) Unbeknownst to him, this ring feathers him to life, as well as granting him the power to fuse and become a gem.
Black Diamond has the power to separate gems from their bodies, allowing those gems to join with other organic matter. Her power decides the soul from the body, and places thst soul elsewhere. It’s kind of creepy, but basically the miracle gems were all gems that wanted to live without the burden of being, well… gems. Immortal beings tethered to life by the rocks in their bodies thst granted them strength and powers and all kinds of incredible gifts, while denying them the one thing they wanted—the ability to change. Sure they could change shape, but their gems never corroded, never grew old, never died. These gems wanted to become mortal, to live a life that meant as much as the humans they observed—to be free. She also has the ability to absorb light and trap it, sort of like a black hole rather than a prism. She can also corrode inorganic matter, as well as do just about anything any other standard gem can do. Her gem is incapable of fusing with other gems, though. The only reason Adrien can fuse with Black Diamond is because he IS Black Diamond.
So that’s the lore. As to Black diamond’s personality, well, she’s a free spirit, does what she wants and goes wherever she likes. One moment you’ll see her, the next she’ll be doing something new. She became human as a sort of game, to see if she could fool herself, maybe, or to try and understand why the gems she met chose to become Human. Eventually she forgot that she ever was a Gem. Black Diamond enjoys chaos and watching things fall apart or change, and tends to sit back and watch. She’s quiet, mischievous, and easily entertained. When Adrien becomes Black Diamond, he loses a lot of his inhibitions and let’s lose, taking more risks and acting out more than usual. He becomes a trickster, a joker, and laughs a whole lot more. He also becomes more destructive. Only Pebble seems to be able to keep him in line.
As a side note, Black Diamond is taller than Pink, but shorter than blue and yellow. So yeah. Anyways, that’s it! That was a lot, I know, but good job reading it. Let me know what you think!
