How the Miraculous Work in my Apprentice AU
Each Miraculous has ONE power when they’re being used in isolation (ie the ladybug’s power to create objects or the butterfly’s power to grant a single power to an individual)
Miraculous powers can only be used ONCE per transformation regardless of age without taking a toll on their holder. A power CAN be used more than once per transformation, but this will cause damage to the holder of that power. (Transformations are shorter, drains life force, can cause irreparable damage to the holder’s body/mind, etc.)
A single person can use more than one miraculous at once to gain access to a new power, but doing this takes a toll on the holder. (Transformations are shorter, drains life force, can cause irreparable damage to the holder’s body/mind, etc.)
Miraculous fusion powers can be achieved through two separate holders combining their powers.
Like the base powers, fusion powers can be used ONCE per transformation. If two holders combine their powers for a fusion, they are able to use their base powers and their fusion powers one time EACH per transformation.
Alright, now let’s talk about exceptions:
The Butterfly Miraculous: it works a little differently than the other miraculous powers as far as user toll goes—rather than the user taking the full brunt of the toll when misusing powers, the person they’ve gifted the powers to shares in that effect. Gabriel is able to grant powers that can be used more than one time because he is ignoring the limitations and tapping into the physical stamina of his victims. The akumas he sends out are powerful, but also unstable—hence why they need to be purified. If left unattended, the akumas will split and multiply, consuming random individuals who become copies of the original.
The Mouse: the mouse can continue to split into clones a near infinite number of times, (although once they start pulling the clones back into themselves they can’t divide again,) because the clones get smaller and smaller each time.
The Snake: Second chance rewinds from a specific point, so the power can be used almost indefinitely during the time it’s active. Once the power is de-activated, though, it can’t be used again until the user retransforms.
Ladybug and Cat Fusion: because these powers are opposites they fuel each other. With perfect synchronization their powers can reactivate each other over and over again without hurting the holders or requiring them to detransform.
I think that’s everything… let me know if you have questions about anything I haven’t covered. (I’m sure there’s something)
