And Atem does indeed find them, running around the corner and taking a deep breath when he finds them on their own. They were almost always with Yugi, so to see them on their own only reaffirmed that Yugi was missing--
He needed to get them to safety, or they might get in the way of the soldiers. He'd done his best to get rid of the weeds among them, but a few wouldn't hesitate to kick the kittens aside when it came down to it.
He knelt in front of them and held out his hand for one kitten to sniff. "We need to get you to our room..."
