Kaveh never thought he'd find himself back here again. In the ruins that would have been a magnum opus for him and a certain scribe. But his new found job required him to speak on it. Or rather, his students were infatuated with the thesis. Decoding the Runes and Architectural Philosophy of the Ruins of King Deshret's Civilization.
The name still ran in his mind as if he was still writing it. Yet like most things in his life, it came at a great cost. For the praise the paper received, he would've preferred if he hadn't done it. O̶r̶ c̶u̶t̶ o̶f̶f̶ h̶i̶s̶ o̶n̶l̶y̶ f̶r̶i̶e̶n̶d̶. Regardless, he was a lecturer now. And if his students wanted to learn, he wouldn't deny it.

The architect stretches his arms and legs. It would be a long walk back to the nearest city. Yet… something bothers his companion. While alone, he did have his companion, Mehrak. A curious little briefcase with low intelligence. A̶s̶ f̶a̶r̶ a̶s̶ K̶a̶v̶e̶h̶ k̶n̶o̶w̶s̶.
Ever since reemerging from the ruins, it had been beeping and dashing around. "What is it now? You're not due for a repair already!"
The briefcase makes an unhappy face at its owner. It wants to say something but lacks the capabilities of it. So rather than waste more time beeping and bopping at its unamused master, Mehrak floats away to where it's interested.
"H-Hey! Wait!" The architect stumbles on his feet, the sand getting all over in his shoes once more. But still chooses to pursue the suitcase.
Little does he know that by doing so, he'd uncover more trouble than it's worth.
