18: English dub, French with subs, or other?
So actually, I prefer to not have to completely rely on subtitles when watching things in general, which is why I learned Japanese when I was younger and am trying to learn French now. I like the English and French versions about equally, but since my French still isn’t all that great, I’ll often just watch the English dub because that’s just easier.
Really though, I’ll watch either English or French depending on what I’m feeling. Also, I adore the Japanese dub.
21: Most frustrating moment of Marinette & Adrien failing to realise each other’s identity?
Ok so, actually the most frustrating one for me was not exactly “failing” so much... It was Kwami Buster where Adrien DID realize it.
And he seems pretty ok with the idea of Just A Friend actually being his lady. (I really love this scene actually.)
But, of course, this was “proven” not to be the case.

I haven’t found most of their missed hints to be all that frustrating because a lot of them take place when they are BOTH looking for excuses, and they are each too worried about covering for their own identity to realize that the other is doing the exact same thing (see Frightengale for a good example of this), so I actually find it understandable in many cases. Kwami Buster was different in that this time, finding out that they go to the same school was a much more direct hint that they couldn’t miss.
What makes this one so much more frustrating is two things. First, he knew! Or suspected based on a hint if you want to get technical but... he totally knew. Which is why he was so surprised to find out otherwise:
I knew that we wouldn’t actually have a mid-season identity reveal, but it was a pretty big tease to have him actually figure it out and have it taken back.
The second reason is that now Adrien believes that Marinette absolutely cannot possibly be Ladybug, which means that any and all possible future hints to her identity are not likely to be taken. And I kind of expect there to be a lot of hints that he will miss as a result of this.
That being said, I do really like Kwami Buster as an episode, don’t get the wrong idea!
