By My Side is going to Spain
By My Side will cross the Atlantic later on this month to compete at the MiradasDoc Film Festival in Tenerife (Spain). This is an important step for the film, which will be screened alongside some great documentaries such as Yatasto, The Tsunami and the Cherry Blossom and Gods and Kings. We will also keep you updated on the screening in Port of Spain last month. Showing the film at the Trinidad + Tobago Film Festival was a great experience.
Next festival & Soka Afrika on TV!
Next on our agenda of festivals is the superb MiradasDoc Festival in Tenerife, Spain. It takes place between 28th October and 5th November 2011 and we've been officially selected there. Which is nice.
Furthermore, and this is where things get exciting, Al Jazeera Eng have decided to take a break from covering the Arab spring so excellently and are showing Soka Afrika, the 58 minute version, on their brilliant Witness strand of documentaries. This will start showing at 20.00 GMT on Wednesday 26th October with further slots over the course of the following week.
Can't wait to see it on the telly!
Festival Internacional de Cine Documental
Los amantes del cine documental están de enorabuena. Este mes y hasta el 15 de mayo Miradasdoc abre la convocatoria para participar VI Festival Internacional de Cine Documental de Guía de Isora. Se trata de uno de los eventos nacionales más importantes en el género de cine de realidad.
Esta edición se presenta dividida en un concurso internacional (que incorpora la versión de cortometraje –menos de 30 minutos- y largometraje), un concurso para documentales nacionales y otro para canarios. Además, se otorgarán premios de 3.000 a 8.000 euros, según en la sección que se participe.
El festival incorpora también secciones informativas, el MiradasDoc Market con sesiones de pitchin (también con premio) formación y discusión teórica y práctica. ¡Animaros a participar!
