How I imagine Randy’s best bud and possible best gal deciding who spends their Friday night with Randy.
-Greg’s Game Hole- Friday Afternoon
It was week 3 of Randy and Theresa being a steady couple, and Howard still wasn’t used to the idea of his bro having his own bae. Not to mention it would be the second thing to eat into their bro-time, the first being the Ninja-biz.
Randy was currently sitting between the two, nervously sipping a milkshake while his two favourite people (for different reasons) were having a verbal duke-out.
“We came here first, we’re finishing our daily game-sesh!” Howard yelled.
“You two always hang out together at school, and throughout most of the week!” Theresa retorted, “Besides, you’ve also had your entire lifetime to hang out with him, I’ve only had a few weeks, and barely that, thanks to you!”
They both turn to look at Randy.
“Come on, Cunningham, Wife Guard 2: Electric Boogey-board-aloo premieres tonight! We have to see it before the internet begins uploading spoilers!” Howard argues.
“I already saw reviews on it, and judging by most of the critics, you evening would be better spent somewhere else, like PJ McFlubbusters for their One-Night-Only Couples-Only specials?” Theresa persuades with batted eyelashes,
“Cunningham!” Howard whines with an angry pout.
“Randy,” Theresa coos with a sad-puppy face.
“Cunningham!”
“Randy,”
“CUNNINGHAM!!”
“Randy,”
“DO YOU TWO MIND!!” Randy belts. Howard and Theresa immediately fall silent as Randy slurps his milkshake dry, somehow not getting brain-freeze. He first turns to Theresa, “Theresa, I know we are a couple, butI want to feel like I can make my own decisions in this relationship, I get enough bossiness from Howard.”
“Hey,”
Randy turns to face Howard.
“As for you, Howard, I assumed you would be less possessive about this.” Randy scolded.
Both Howard and Theresa looked down at their own feet in shame.
“So... does this mean no on all of the above?” Theresa quietly asked,
Randy took a deep calming breath, and put a hand on their respective shoulders.
“I didn’t say that, what I am saying is that I don’t what you two fighting over me, okay?” The three shared smiles of understanding. “Good, now fist-bump and make up.”
Howard and Theresa looked at each other, and reluctantly shared a single fist-bump, Theresa’s smile a little more genuine than Howard’s.
“So, does that mean we’re still on for movie night?”
“Howard!” Randy sounded stern.
Howard took one of Randy’s hands, and manually started him off on one of their slap-age-routines, which Randy finished instinctively.
“Top that, Fowler.” Howard sneered at Theresa.
, but that melted away instantly when Theresa took Randy’s face in her hands, and pulled him in for a kiss on the lips. Howard gasped at the sight.
“There’s more where that came from if we go to McFlubBusters,” She added as she ran her fingers across his chin. Randy was officially around her fingers.
In a fit of rage, Howard grabbed Randys face and pulled it in to their eyes were level. Howard immediately paused to consider his actions before shoving Randy back into Theresa’s direction.
“Just go enjoy your dinner!” He said as he turns around to face the bar.
Theresa and Randy glanced at each other before awkwardly slinking away, not even bothering to say anything out of discomfort.
When the two were out of sight, Doug walks up to Howard and asks “Were you really just about to--?”
“NO!!!!”

The End. and in case anyone is wondering, Randy and Theresa had a wonderul dinner... despite the circumstances prior.
Because Randy has a Japanese step-mom (Jo/Junko) the Cunningham family's thanksgiving spread consists of the usual turkey cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, and ham, along with an assortment of Japanese and oriental foods, like pot-stickers, sushi rolls and nigiri. They make sure to eat with chopsticks for the sushi, along with forks and knives for the other foods.
Going with the idea that she is a single mother, Randy's mom is probably a high-ranking cop.
Think about it: She is never seen at home in day or night, and there is never a car in the garage, and Cops work a lot of hours. Also, because she is single, she works extra hours for extra money to keep Randy happy.
Also, Norrisville does have a police department (seen in "Julian's Birthday Surprise), and the ninja cannot be expected to take care of every little thing in Norrisville, right? As for Miranda (I'm still calling her Miranda until the show indicates otherwise), she took the job because she wanted to make this crazy town safe for her son, and have a job that he'll look up to her/respect her for; Be "the ninja" in his life. She also makes sure to share stories from her workdays that won't have Randy worry about her.
She respects the ninja, but prefers he stick to fighting monsters while she and the NPD fight thugs and criminals.
When Randy was growing up, she'd sometimes take him to her office when she was spedning the day filling out paperwork and let him doodle on blank sheets. (One time, he was playing with the handcuffs and got his hand stuck to his foot). Other times, he'd ride along with her on less-dangerous calls (Like noise complaints).
At work, she is no-nonsense, steel-nerved, and unflinching. When the badge comes off, however, she is just as much a mother as humanly possible... with a sense of fun.
I wanted to make an RC9GN mother's day card featuring Randy surving my version of his two moms, Miranda and Jo/Junko, breakfast in bed. But, seeing as poor time management has made that less possible...
anybody want to do that? with my version of Randy's moms? please?
This is a secondary headcanon to Randy growing up with two mothers
Randy lived alone with his mother for most of his life because his father left before he was born... more so out of the man's fear of commitment and ability to sneak out of town.
For most of his life, Randy's mother worked really hard to provide for him, and eventually took over her father's private construction business. She was not home that often, which is why Randy would hang out at Howard's place a lot growing up. One night a month, Randy and his mom would have a Game Night, be it with Video games, board games, or just watching a movie together... as long as they spent it together.
At one point while Randy is still a child, he gets incredibly sick, and the only way to save him is with a blood transfusion from someone other than his mother, so they pick a bag from donor storage. After saving Randy, Miranda tracks down the woman who's blood saved him... enter Dr Junko "Jo" Hatake, the same woman who helped Miranda (Randy's mom) birth Randy. After shooting the breeze on a first meeting, and arranging for several other meetings, which eventually became dates. This affair lasts in secret until some point before Randy starts High School.
After missing a game night (which upsets Randy), Miranda comes clean about her secretly dating another woman... which further upsets Randy, More so for the fact that his mom kept it a secret... the aspect of her dating a woman was something Randy was just not used to and didn't know how to react to something like that.
Soon after that, Miranda decides that Randy should spend some time with Junko, get to know her better. Randy fights it at first, but warms up to her after learning that her donated blood saved his life as a child. Also, she introduced him to the culture where Ninjas came from.
When Randy's respect and acceptance of Junko was cemented, Miranda popped the question, and Randy had to get used to having to be specific when asking for "mom".
I might make this a fanfic... or not... if I am interested or not.
