I have made so many errors due to my worsening ability to count and process that I was joking about this project being cursed, which makes it perfect for October.😁 Not exaggerating, I had to tink (unknitting by carefully knitting backwards) and frog (rip it, rip it 🐸), substantial sections because of my brain at least eight times. Making this hat took me way too long, and really made me think about the cognitive decline that I saw on paper thanks to my neuropsychological exam. The pattern is “Matt’s Plaid Hat” from @ovniknits; I modified it some for my giant Scottish head, and it is still a little snug. If I make it again, I’ll add more plaid panels. I also had to add to the top before decreasing, because I apparently have a giant some on top as well as around. I also added two rows before starting the pattern, to stabilize--the ribbed is doubled over--so I repeated it again at the top. I like the effect, as if it’s a inserted fabric piece. Cute. The beige yarn is Knit Picks Andean Treasure 100% baby alpaca. The cranberry yarn was a gift from @anotherjill and @bchaspee (thank you so much!❤️): Mirasol Peru Nina, merino wool, silk, and bamboo. So basically, this is the softest hat ever. I found a matching fingerless gloves pattern, and I have some Mirasol remaining!
