Starter for @fides-nihil | Eli and Mirefinwe
Mirefinwe was jolted out of their hunt for mussels to snack on when the sound of something entering the water caught their attention, they looked up to see something shiny sink into the seawater.
With a flick of their tail they swam through the water, catching the sinking object in their webbed hands. It was a necklace, one with the cross symbol. Humans considered those things precious... but humans were dangerous, and didn't take kindly to merfolk.
...but what if the human became sad that they lost their necklace? It was very pretty and shiny, and Mirefinwe knew that they would be sad if it had been theirs and they lost it.
Wanting to help, the mer swam to the surface. Breathing in air instead of water felt strange, and switching from gills to lungs even stranger. Their pearl white scales glimmers in the sea water and their long white hair was plastered to their skin, and the ends floating in the water.
"Excuse me, human? You dropped this," Mirefinwe called to the human that they were sure dropped the necklace, their clawed and webbed hand trembled in anxiety as they held it up so the human could take it.
