Mirimus: Target Discovery and Toxicology Research
On September 25, 2013, swissnex Boston had the pleasure to welcome Mirimus, a spin-off company issued from Cold Spring Harbor laboratories in Long Island and co-founded by CSO Dr. Christof Fellman out his PhD thesis. Christoph worked in collaboration with the laboratory of Prof. Michael Hengartner from the University of Zurich to develop a platform for the generation of highly sophisticated mouse models. The core of the technology relies on the reversible gene silencing capability of RNA interference. Using the most advanced platforms of shRNA design for potent gene silencing and speedy mouse modeling, Mirimus generates unique mouse models that will serve as superior preclinical models for target discovery and toxicology research in our combat against human health issues. Mirimus was in Boston for the Discovery on Target Conference 2013, a major conference which gathered experts from all over the world. Mirimus organized a satellite event at swissnex Boston and got exposure to a targeted crowd of 30 researchers. The company presented its services and could exchange views and interests around the technology with the attendants.
