New doll!!

She's so lovely. Here she's got the brown eyes she arrived with.

We played wigs first! She's got a bigger head than either of my other 1/3 size dolls, so she gets to claim the bigger wigs.

I also discovered that a few of my clothing pieces fit her perfectly...

The regent dress was one of my first finds back when I started. Its perfectly crafted with exquisite finishing details and a sateen petticoat that's as pretty as anything else I own. She wears it incredibly well; I had to move a snap to get it to fit Lila.

That gold and white confection though... I clearly bought that one for **this** doll. It fits her like it was made for her.

I have this faerie idea I've been playing with, all gold and filigree; she would be stunning in it. Possibly with this dress.

I like this wig, too. It has little pigtails!

She's spectacular and I adore her!

She's just so lovely.

I used watercolors paint to give her new lipstick. Its temporary and not sealed, so I can wipe it off if I need to.

Heres the fashion show of awesome clothes from @dollsahoy 's recent de-stash:

The Mod Squad! Her cotton candy lips work great for these dresses. Very "Mod", very chic. I need some white boots to complete the look.

She's crafty! I stole this pincushion from my partner. He got it in a darling sewing kit. I gave him a magnetic pincushion and took this one for my dolls. I love this skirt so much. I want one in my size. I would wear it to work!

Something else that I would totally wear.

Who likes Troll dolls? I do, I do!! I plan to take a picture with my trolls someday. They're packed away right now.

My big girls are back together again! All their clothes are still on storage so they'll have to stay in these gowns for a while.

The lighting in the dining room is really sallow. Lila comes off as slightly greenish, and Sanguine looks like she and Gloria are almost the same color. Her Resinsoul Red has mellowed quite a bit, but it's not that tan.

Gloria's color is actually better represented here, though we lose a lot of detail from her lovely face up.

I'll get it worked out.

They're on my beloved buffet, which was my favorite place to set up my dolls (at the Mint Cookie.) Then, at the apartment it was repurposed for a TV stand. (Oh, the indignity...)

The top is a bit worse for wear so I put this fabric down. Time to do some restoration work?

The Golden Faerie

Now with proper headdress

I cut this out tonight, and punched two holes on either side. Then I set a jump ring in the holes.

And threaded a gold ribbon through the ring.

The jewels are from an adhesive trim from the dollar store. (Dollar Tree's craft section is kicking ass around here.)

I want to add pearls, too, but I need to find the right ones.

I'm starting to think her name might be something like Gloria or Galadriel. I'm getting a "G" somehow...

The Faerie Queen Project

I had this idea for a while now, and I'm excited to put it together.

The wings are paint and metallic permanent marker on thin plastic. The plastic came from toy packaging: in this case the vaccu-form plastic from a set of novelty erasers.

I drew out what I wanted on paper first. Then I traced the design onto the plastic.

I added paint to complete the design, then cut out the wings.

This isn't exactly what was in my head, but its what I was capable of doing. I'm very pleased with them. I'd like to add some jewels to them as well.

Next, I started working on the headpiece.

This version was made using the same technique. This time I painted the whole thing.

But while I was waiting for paint layers to dry, I found a piece of holographic card stock. I traced the original paper cut out onto the back of the holographic paper. Then I cut it out and stapled elastic to the sides to put it on her head. I may try to cut a filigree pattern out of this one later.

I'm really proud to say I drew it out freehand. I took a measurement with my hand, eyeballed the midpoint, drew out one side, folded the paper in half and cut it out. I like it; very She-Ra.

I'm also contemplating a different, two layer headdress with a more dimensional element.

I'm really tickled with her look.

I should mention that I also rescued that wig; its mohair and is had been sorely abused. It was dirty and matted, but I walked and conditioned it and carefully combed it out, then set some scrunch waves, just like I do my own. I'm pretty pleased with it, too.

does anyone have some comparisons of mirodoll tan skins next to other companies tan skins? i am thinking of buying a mirodoll’s 66 body asi it looks quite nice, but i have no idea whether to try their custom matching and how does their tan look.
