If you have picked a random person to “have a crush on”, not even considered what loving someone romantically means, or are generally repulsed by the idea of romance in general, I have news for you:

The average mirrorhawk is a small type of aerial mollusk. In early stages of life, they will construct a small carapace, a composite of mica and their own enameling excretions, to protect themselves from the harsh environment we’ve seen on display today.

Inspired by @illusion-of-death ‘s Mirrorhawk plushies! I saw them and went “I want one” so I felted some!

Back in episode 1, this was said about the Mirrorhawks: "A few mirrorhawks, concerned by the sudden bright light, escaping back into the darkness that they prefer." Does this mean they are fold-native? As far as I understood, Mirrorhawks were primarily Un-native (maybe with Mica exoskeletons??), so can they navigate between the two?

📜: Well spotted! Mirrorhawks indeed have mica in their composition, and originate in the Upper Unfold! Their preference for darkness is probably more so tied to what they can find in the darkness for food, but they do seem to move pretty quickly which can itself be a great strategy to evade tearrors (Phineas+Zipline, I’m lookin’ at you).

So I haven’t sewn anything in probably over a year now, but episode 3.16 of Midst left me siezed with an absolutely desperate need to make a Mirrorhawk plushie based off of the cutsey edutainment powerpoint slide designs we got to see that episode.
