So yeah, I guess I’ll be analyzing them all!  I think they all had input from the show’s staff so they’re worth looking into.

So Im really bad at wording but: Sucks can suck objectively and it isnt bad to still like the thing. As long as your realize whats problematic about it and why and realize that the problematic things arent okay and dont try to defend the problematic things, then its fine to still like it!

The thing with "it sucks" being objective is, sometimes it can be... but not always. When used with problematic things, I can see that. (Though I do still think the word "problematic" is a bit overused nowadays, people can find offense in ANYTHING to the point where it seems offensiveness is losing meaning. Though that's not happening in this particular case, so that's irrelevant here.) But there's other things in other fandoms where it has nothing to do with anything like offense or social issues or anything, just stuff like  like "this sucks because it's an action show", "that sucks because it's too long and I hate long series", "I personally don't think the jokes in this this are funny, so they suck". That sort of thing is what's subjective.

I do agree with the whole "acknowledge the issues but still like the thing", though. That's totally fine. I also think it's okay to acknowledge the issues, but still spend most of one's time gushing over what it did RIGHT instead of qualifying every "I like this" statement with a paragraph about everything it did wrong. I do need to convince myself that it's okay if I just want to gush and not talk about the issues for a second. It DOES take more energy for me to dislike than to like, and sometimes I just want that happy liking energy.

And if I stopped liking EVERYTHING that anyone has ever found problematic, I'd have a severely limited pool of entertainment, assuming I had anything left at all.
