Such a dramatic adventure with speed boats and stuff, but the ending wasn’t quite as James Bond-esque I hoped it would be. Oh well, you do you Tramp. You do you.
I hope you don't mind me asking your thoughts on this, regarding your recent post on the Ultra wormholes. In the Haina desert, there's a NPC that actually talks about having amnesia and searching for Solgaleo (in Sun at least). If you want to find it yourself, fell free to come back to this later; I don't want to spoil your game play for you. That's not my intent. The man says, "I'm Mr... Mr... I can't remember... I'm just the ashes left behind... (1/2)
…What remains when everything has been given… I can’t remember any longer… Not how to get back home… Not anything about who I once was… But in the depths of my memory, I can still see the form of that dear Pokemon… As hazy and distant as a mirage… It looked… like the sun… My… Sol- Where is it? The Pokemon that always protected me? That rugged body… That round form… Those sharp burning eyes… …If only I could see it once more… I think… I might remember something…“ That guy didn’t even use a single period. I found him after the main story line, so I’m unsure if he’s there prior. I’m just curious on your thoughts. Hope you don’t mind.
First, just to get this out of the way: I love how you commented on how he didn’t even use a single period. I don’t know if you intended it to, but it almost sounded a bit indignant, like, how dare he not use a single period, what is wrong with him? That amused me, so I love that you included that, haha.
Now, onto the actual answer!
The guy actually isn’t looking for Solgaleo—what he wants to see is Solrock. You know, this guy:
And in Moon version he wants to see Lunatone, I’m pretty sure. The problem is that, despite being Sun and Moon, neither Solrock nor Lunatone can be found naturally anywhere in Alola. (I’m sure both species are experiencing a severe case of “tfw …” right about now.) So we won’t be able to actually show him what he wants until January, when we can transfer Solrock and/or Lunatone via Pokémon Bank. That said, there are people who have hacked Solrock and/or Lunatone into the game to finish the event, and apparently once you show him the pokémon in question he thanks you and … flies into the sky, which I think might be a metaphor for death? Like, he died in the desert, but was just hanging around until his soul could be put at ease by seeing his beloved pokémon once more? I don’t know; I’ll have to see the event for myself come January, but that’s what I think at the moment. Still, it is possible that he came through an Ultra Wormhole, and that the Ultra Wormhole mistook the desert for a beach. (Or maybe it doesn’t have to be a beach per se, but there just has to be sand?) That’s possible.
Either way, that’s his deal. He doesn’t want the legendaries; he just wants his space rocks. ^^
