I'm so sorry about your pupper. Losing a pet is a terrible feeling. When my dog passed away I wrote down my good memories of her, so I wouldn't lose any of them. If you want, you could try that, if you feel like it. It helped me.

Thank you! Your kindness definitely helps me feel a bit better. I am writing so much down! We were together 11 3/4 years, which is longer than any relationship I’ve ever had with a human. There is so much to remember. We did so much together and she was so full of this immense love for life.

I’ve really enjoyed watching the progression of this?? Like I’ve done this with someone that I admire and respect on the same level and it’s *super. hard.* to do. In a bunch of different ways. I don’t know. I just really like this/respect it/am proud to see it go from “I’m thinking about doing the thing” to “the thing is happening tomorrow”

Awwww thank you so much!! That really means a lot to me. A LOT a lot. Much of the difficulty for me has been in getting to a point where "doing the thing" doesn't scare the shit outta me, so when I mail the letter I won't panic or anything. That's honestly been one of the biggest obstacles. That and writing it. I needed a lot of encouragement to really express how I felt because I thought I might make him uncomfortable somehow. But once I opened up and spilled my guts, the letter just became SO wonderful and I'm so so proud of it now and I'm so excited for him to read it. So honestly this wouldn't even be possible without you and others who helped me out. <3

UM good question! I have another pic of him looking about the same in front of a Jurassic Park thingy so I’mma say it was circa Pillars since the Jurassic Park 20th anniversary was in 2010.

I feel the same way about literally any celebrity I like ever??? like, because when I find someone that I admire I go from 0-100 REAL fast and learn like everything there is to know about them?? And I would feel horrible if I ever found out that I made them uncomfortable like that would probably kill me

THIS gosh I do this with EVERYTHING not just people like when you learn an entire new skill in a few days ppl praise you but when you learn all about a celebrity you’re “obsessive”

I’ve had literal years now of Rufus “research” and not to mention I’m a pretty perceptive person so I sometimes talk about him with more familiarity than maybe I should but I’ll also be the first person to admit that I don’t really know him at all?? He’s so full of contradictions, not to mention whenever anyone starts to peg him as one thing, he’ll deliberately turn around and do the opposite. He hates to be pinned down by a single definition. And I can relate to that so much, but it makes it really hard to figure out what he’s actually like as a person. I mean I have an idea, but I don’t KNOW, you know? I’d like to know... but then I’m just like, wow get the fuck over yourself.
