When it comes to schools teaching their children things they don’t like, Republicans go on about how the government should have no say in the way they raise their children.
When you’re a parent supporting your trans child, Republicans want the government to take your child off of you and charge you with child abuse 😡
My Mum actually gendered me correctly and called me Lily for the first time ever yesterday 😊
Human Rights Campaign
So the HRC has rejected Disney’s $5 million donation, basically stating that while Disney has made a step in the right direction, it needs to show a continued commitment to fighting for LGBT+ causes. I think the aim here, is they don’t want Disney simply getting to donate $5 million and get to say, “Hey look! We did good!” Without really doing anything.
Disney has since responded by pausing all donations to politicians in Florida until it has reviewed it’s political donation policy which I do think is another step in the right direction.
Also as I understand it, while I haven’t read the story yet Disney TV Animation employees were continuing to put the screws to Disney over their initial response to the Don’t Say Gay Bill and their further announcement on Wednesday.
I think what is clear is both externally and internally, pressure needs to keep being applied to Disney to lead to these positive and necessary changes. And while in the end the higher ups of Disney will merely be doing this all to protect their bottom line, positive change is still positive change. So let’s keep applying that pressure!
The Passport Saga Continues
So I received a letter yesterday dated the 1st April 2022, before any of my conversations with the HM Passport Office. They have tried to throw the blame onto the Post Office and suggested I seek a refund from them.
I used the Digital Check and Send service the Post Office offer. They check my application alongside the guidance that the Passport Office sends them. Plus if what the Passport Office Call Handlers have told me is true, that the rules have changed and they haven’t updated their site or they can make up the rules as they go. How could the Post Office predict that for it to be their fault?
I went to talk to the Post Office yesterday. They offered me the refund the Passport Office said I should get from them, but I refused it given it isn’t the Post Office’s fault and so why should they pay for the Passport Office’s mistakes.
They kindly ended the conversation though by saying they’d send any further documents free of charge and adding, “The Passport Office is very difficult to work with.”
I so pity that dude for having to deal with them on a daily basis.
So my entire household now has covid 😕 Yeah, the reason I’m not very active right now is cos I really don’t have much energy.
