Augustus gathered his things from the table in the study and sluggishly made his way to the door. The whole day had been spent studying for his exams, but despite his hard work Auggy doubted his ability to perform as well as his father academically. Maybe he wasn’t as smart as the man...

Stepping through the doorway Augustus felt a wave of light headedness and a gust of icy wind. Looking up he found himself out on a snow covered street with tall building looking over him. The area was completely divorced from how the Crown City looked.

Where--? He looked behind him for the doorway and found nothing. Augustus couldn’t figure out the situation, nor could offer one possible explanation. Should he even call out for help? If he was in a strange land he could be taken prisoner.

Shaking his head to ward off any self-doubt, Augustus examined the building signs he could see and spotted one that indicated an inn. Surely he could sit in the lobby a while to sort out his head.
