while i'm still on what is now apparently my semi-monthly danny phantom kick and the blorbo is still rotisserie spinning in my head: i usually headcanon vlad as ace, so the only character i ever really considered shipping him with (other than being in a throuple with danny's parents, obviously) was spectra. i just love the idea of a HORRIBLY toxic relationship in which she initially set out to feed off of this lonely bitter dude just like she would anyone else, but then she gets attached and can't really tell whether she actually loves him or she just loves feeding off of him, but what's the difference when you're a ghost who exists solely for this purpose anyway, right? meanwhile vlad is like.... pretty sure he knows what she's actually doing, but it does feel amazing when she pulls all the misery out of him (at least until she does everything in her power to make him more miserable so she can feed off of him again) so he really just doesn't care enough to address it and risk ending it. he's using her for temporary relief and she's using him for pretty much the same exact thing. also they're fucking. cause why not

So, in Doctor's Disorders, Spectra uses the best attributes from several students to reconstruct herself a new body. Ignoring the idea that maybe this was how she originally got her human guise that needed to be maintained, let's instead focus on the key piece she needed: Danny's Half a DNA. She wants a humanoid body that will be permanent, while maintaining her ghostly self. so having half a DNA would be essential for trying the two halves together. She's essentially trying to become an artificial halfa. So imagine, shortly after her horrible failure, she stumbles upon Vlad in the Ghost Zone. The older Halfa. She's weak from needing to tear herself from her gross snot body, and the lonely misery rolls off him under the charming confident facade. It's impossible for her to ignore it, it's intoxicating. So she sticks around him, discovers about his obsessions, and helps him develop his cloning machines, because really, cloning isn't all that different than what she did. And in return, she feeds, and tries to steal his DNA. She was so close last time, she can try again. But perhaps she wants to try something new, something that would negate a need for a human sleeve all together. She tries to take a piece of his core, a peace of his central being. He notices, however, as she gets impatient and miscalculates how deep he sleeps. He turns on her, enraged, and easily overpowers her. She is forced to flee, injured and pained, back to her lair--but with a core piece nonetheless. And so she tries to fuse it to hers, to instill herself with the halfa gene. And it fails spectacularly. The core piece fuses, yes, but not in the way she wanted. Instead it mixes, forming a separate entity. A child. That she now has no idea what to do with bc this was 600% not what she had intended nor expected. Cue Danny needing to deal with this smol hyperactive ghost child thats a total manipulative bastard but also so damn cute when he's not. He loves unicornos jellybeans and rainbows and also exploding things especially things that shouldn't be exploded like Vlad's house. -whispers - I just want misery motivated and happy vlad family times.
