My condolences about your Mom. You've lost way too many family members in such a short time it seems. :( I don't want to sound too curious, but how is your [remaining?] uncle handling things so far? I'm sure he's been feeling the aftermath as you have, and I hope you're both going to be okay in the long run. o.o
Yeah, at this point it’s just me, my uncle, and my cousin. Pretty much we’re all in “take it one day at a time” mode, just handling things as best we can.
So Roahm, what're the final specs on the new "Beast" PC anyways [like the Processor, OS, RAM amount, GPU, etc], and how much did it ultimately cost you? :o
Well, the ultimate cost was $1900, so there’s that. I’m afraid I don’t immediately remember all the specs, hardware stuff kinda goes over my head admittedly.
On that subject though, what PC games are you hoping to be able to play with a theoretical new PC rig? I know due to your internet multiplayer stuff is out of the question, so I'm guessing it's mostly singleplayer stuff. [3/3]
Honestly I don’t really know. Steam is still an iffy thing for me to use due to my bandwidth limitations, so I don’t know that I’d be that likely to get much on there unless I had a less limited connection. To be honest, I’m just not really much of a PC gamer, I’m more a console gamer. There might be some fangames here or there that I look into, but nothing PC specific really jumps out at me as “Okay yeah I want to play that.”
Knowing you're considering a new PC gives me hope you'll be able to play more PC games and other fan games in the future, but I also know that being Pink's from Canada, I wonder how the fact PC parts are more expensive there will affect how she helps you determine a proper PC build. One good thing about being in the US for us is lower prices for PC components vs. Canada. :V [2/]

Yeah this seems to be PC upgrading season for so many people i know. I just got a new laptop myself with a GTX 1070. [$1628 going bye bye in the process, so I kind of understand], and a couple of others have at least upgraded their GPUs and RAM lately. [1/?]

So appearantly I've been out of the loop, since I saw an ask about you having a Chromebook and maybe getting a new PC sometime soon. Looked through the archives but didn't see too many details. What's going on with that? :o
This all started earlier this month, I got an e-mail from Skype saying the version of Skype I use on my PC will no longer function starting March 1st, and that I needed to upgrade. However, if I DO upgrade it, it doesn’t let me sign in at all, not even for text chat stuff. Basically since it’s a Microsoft program, I’m guessing it needs higher Windows functionality than what Vista can do. So it seemed like I might be out of luck for having a way to voice chat with my friends.
Bandanastan decided to send me a Chromebook, hoping that would help. As it turns out, you can’t install a good version of Skype on it, but you CAN install Discord, and my friends and I just tested it today and it seems like it will work fine for my needs.
As far as getting a new actual PC, that’s still something in the works, it’s what I’m saving Patreon funds for right now, trying to get a new system. I’ll have to sit down with Pink sometime to look over what all I’ll need in a new system, and what kind of price point I’d be looking at for it, all that sort of thing. I don’t trust myself to construct my own PC from the ground up, I’m useless when it comes to the hardware aspect of computers.
I too wonder if it might be time to see you jump into the goofy world of Resident Evil myself. After watching SGB [Super Gaming Bros] jump into the first few games, I could only imagine what antics you'd get into playing at least the first three games, if not also 4 and whatnot. It would also probably be a change of pace from Silent Hill's more somber ambience overall.
Yeah, I mean, the sheer campiness of the original Resident Evil is what first kinda got me into survival horror, playing that game with my mum. If that game hadn’t been as silly as the acting made it, I don’t know if I’d have been as into it.

Is Hae-Lin’s revised flashlight any more relaxed on the FPS compared to the original version? I know from the Touhou Doom vids that it was a killer on FPS before. :P
I don’t know. It’s handled via inventory manipulation instead of global variables, so it’ll be easier to process, but the amount of lights are the same. In Software it’s still a universal A_Light, which doesn’t cause any lag.
Shihong’s is super easy-peasy on FPS, though, since it’s just a single powerup rather than GLdefs.
