D&B Audition today

Hey guys below is some information on the audition today. You are able to now start at 2:30 so don't follow the times below. I will post the application form onto the next post for you all to fill in and take with you.

Thursday 4th June

2.30 - 4.30pm

A vocal workshop A Drama workshop & Individual dance performances. 

We are happy for this to be a routine that they performed in their showcase, they would just need to bring along the music which could be a CD or able to plug into an aux lead.

Anyone who would like to audition would need to fill in the attached paperwork and bring it along with them. There is normally an audition fee of £30.00 however as this is very late notice for the students we are happy to honour a discounted rate for students that wish to come along on Thursday of £15.00.

I’ve put aside two tickets for yourself and Sam for the evening performance of the showcase at 7:00pm which is at the Shaw Theatre, Kings Cross. As we mentioned, we are more than happy to offer complimentary tickets to any 1st year students for the matinee performance at 2:30pm, please just let us know how many you would like as soon as possible.

GCSE EXAM

Hey guys just to remind you that your exam tomorrow starts at 9:00am so you will all need to be in at 8:45am ready to go. The exam will be 1 hour 45 mins and you will need to bring your student id, protractor, compass, ruler etc. On Monday you will need calculator. This was said to you guys after the de-brief and I believe that a few of you did not hear this. Can you all pass this message onto others taking part in their exam.

Research

Hey guys can you all please start to research the music to the pieces we have already began to create. This will help you progress not only your artistic skills but also give you some creative ideas. Research various films, musicals and other youtube clips to get inspiration and then document your findings in note form, photos and video links etc. Make sure that you are also looking at costumes/clothes they wore and how they had their make up and hair as, you will need to start experimenting  with what works. Can this please be actioned by monday so that we can continue to develop what we have already learnt.

Can you also please make sure that you are staying on top of your logbooks weekly in able you to achieve the grades that you are capable of. Lets start this new process with a positive vibe and start as we mean to go on. I am once agin extremely excited to start creating with you again to produce another outstanding show. :-)

Dancer show tickets

Hey guys I hope that you are all enjoying your weekend off. This is just a quick reminder to let you know that our show tickets will be going on sale this Monday 19th January 😁 make sure you start purchasing this ASAP as I’m pretty sure they will sell out fast.

Logbooks

Hey guys can you all please ensure that your logbooks are completely up to date by Monday 12th January 2015. We will be checking first thing monday morning. If this is not actioned you will be taken off the floor so to avoid disappointment prioritise your time over the upcoming week and weekend. For your last week before the christmas break can you please document at least 600 words discussing how you felt your Ballet, Tap and Modern assessments went. Here are a few examples you can include in this:

How you think you did?

What went well? Why?

What did not go so well? Why?

What would you of done differently? Why? How?

How did you find the overall experience? Why?

Can you also all make sure that you include your review of the christmas show.

Happy new year

To all dancers, I just wanted to wish you a happy new year. I hope that you have enjoyed your Christmas break but are looking forward to returning tomorrow. As you are well aware the dance will be here soon therefore we as the creative team need to make sure that everyone is working together to achieve an outstanding production, this includes arriving on time daily and for every class, meeting all deadlines set, staying for allocated independent slots and following direction as its given. I look forward to working with you all over the next couple of weeks to create a finale, complete Hearts a Mess and to finish the Opening piece.
