I would like to welcome you all to the Miskin Dance Company 2013. Miskin Dance will be entering its 13th year as part of Miskin Theatre and whilst that may be unlikely for some I have a great feeling that this year is going to be a successful one. I have been impressed with everyone’s desire throughout auditions and workshops to work together positively and I genuinely believe that we can produce an excellent working company ethos. We have an exciting plan in place for the year and great teaching faculty to support this. We have aims to participate in as much community work giving you all the chance to experience more performing and networking opportunities as possible. We have made excellent progression over the last few years with dancers moving onto a variety of dance institutions and vocational colleges, with a recent ex graduate receiving a 1st for her degree at Laban and gaining a place in their prestigious Transitions Dance Company, (Sarah Golding) as well as other dancers currently working in West End musicals and sailing the Seven Seas. (Kirsty Skivington – Ghost, Viva Forever, Katie-Marie Hicks - Legally Blonde and Sam Linscott – We Will Rock You – European tour) We aim to continue to produce all around performers both physically and mentally, enabling you to move onto the next step in your career with confidence, self-belief as well as having the required skills needed. You will work in an environment that has high expectations allowing you to reap the rewards of working in a Grade 1 establishment. I want to wish you Good luck with your course and hope that you have a positive journey here whilst learning your craft. I look forward to seeing you all over the coming weeks. Hey guys below is some information on the audition today. You are able to now start at 2:30 so don't follow the times below. I will post the application form onto the next post for you all to fill in and take with you.
Thursday 4th June
2.30 - 4.30pm
A vocal workshop
A Drama workshop & Individual dance performances.
We are happy for this to be a routine that they performed in their showcase, they would just need to bring along the music which could be a CD or able to plug into an aux lead.
Anyone who would like to audition would need to fill in the attached paperwork and bring it along with them. There is normally an audition fee of £30.00 however as this is very late notice for the students we are happy to honour a discounted rate for students that wish to come along on Thursday of £15.00.

I’ve put aside two tickets for yourself and Sam for the evening performance of the showcase at 7:00pm which is at the Shaw Theatre, Kings Cross. As we mentioned, we are more than happy to offer complimentary tickets to any 1st year students for the matinee performance at 2:30pm, please just let us know how many you would like as soon as possible.
Can you please write a proposal of why you would like to be in ‘Take me to Church’ or ‘One Way’ or reasons why not to be either!
Think of this as a job interview.......sell yourself!! Also write about one person who stood out to you on Friday and feedback on positive and constructive comments.

The Miskin Theatre will be hosting an arts competition on Thursday 4thJune 2015 (In the Auditorium)
Your task - Produce a solo, duet or an ensemble pieceof your chosen discipline in a contemporary form (can include up to 10 people) the entry should be no longer than 4 minutes. Level 2, Level 3 and L3 Extended (entry must be in your course level)

There will be other colleges entering this competition; it is our chance to show them how talented you all are!!
