me: remembers THE PARENTS SUPPORTING THEIR CHILDREN!!! they have actual parents..... the moms are adorable and everyone is super involved w their children’s lives and taking care of them.....
me: remembers abe and mihashi’s character development, both as partners and as individual people, how abe snaps easily and misunderstands/assumes things and forgets to see other people over his pride at first (hurting them in the process), how mihashi was so severely insecure of himself that he relied too deeply on others and forgetting that he, too, could be relied on, how both of them worked on this together after realizing this and realizing they could change together and seeing what the other could be capable of - abe’s amazing catcher abilities and his talent in observing the game and acting on it and his will to make things work, mihashi’s honesty, his hardworking nature, his will to not give up the mound. i honestly am not interpreting anything at all bec this has been. stated on CANON with WORDS. i cant believe it.

1. Sakata Gintoki (Gintama)
k of course. gin is my absolute fav because?? idk he is probably the most human character ive ever seen. not even in the deeply complex way (which also makes him human?) but in his tiny gestures and his quick retorts and his shitty habits and his connection to people.... idk everything about him sounds really naturally written. he also doesnt sound like a protagonist and this is so nice? he doesnt have any great ambitions like he just wants to live life as it comes.. this is super nice and i lov him so much honestly
2. Kagura (Gintama)
i REALLY love kagura... much like gin, she is written very naturally. and she actually sounds her age? this is v important to me. like she’s not infantilized or purposedly act like an older person. she is mature but she can be childish, she knows when to take things seriously and when to have fun, she has doubts and she’s honest and OPEN and good god, she \wants\ to have fun and does whatever she wants. i lov.
3. Juvia Lockser (Fairy Tail)
my one tru love.......... i really like her struggles with herself and her rain and i wish it was shown more in canon. i also like how upbeat she can be, how blatantly unafraid of loving and trusting people she can be, even if she may constantly feel sad or alone or whatever. the concept of a person being followed by the manifestation of their own grief is super swell to me bc it rings close to home? and im so glad that she has managed to come so far. i love her tbh.
4. Sora (Kingdom Hearts)
son.................... he bottles up so many things and he goes through so many things and he has the opportunity to lose confidence in himself so easily but he never backs down and still goes on..... i love how he is proud of being part of something bigger that doesn’t necessarily include him, how blissfully ordinary and loving and TRUSTING and open he is.....
5. Shouyou Hinata (Haikyuu)
i finished hq really quickly so i was reluctant to put him here but like.. i love how super enthusiastic hinata is. i love how he is unafraid of showing emotions, be them positive (happiness, excitement, etc) or negative (anger, fear, etc), how he lets himself LOVE things and lets himself feel things even if he is reluctant at first?? how he challenges himself and others around him.... i love how he likes to praise people because he genuinely cares about them and how he is deeply grateful to everyone he is?? such a son i love him
6. Steven Quartz Universe (SU)
I LOV STEVEN!! god he is super loving and understanding of his surroundings despite not looking like he is attentive. i love how he admires lots of female coded figures and he LETS himself admire them and be like them and he never thinks it’s wrong or weird to do it; on the contrary, he is super proud of that and he LOVES it. how he likes touching people (like. holding hands and hugging and being near them) and how he LOVES interacting with people. thats honestly so sweet. he is so sweet.
7. Roxas (Kingdom Hearts)
he has been through so much, he had the potential to become someone super vengeful and angry (and for a while he was and it was completely justified) but he chose to forgive and understand sora and that was so nice and also so Unfair because, god, he has the right to exist by himself. i am always so sad about roxas
8. Link (The Legend of Zelda)
not a specific link!! i just like to interpret his character as the scene and game goes, and also insert tidbits of my own personality into him bec, well. he is there to connect the game and the player. laughs. he is the link after all. its very interesting how all of them are pretty much similar but also different? can you imagine how many tiny heroes have the same soul but they can all be so unique and distinct from each other, even if its something you have to squint at or even theorize about.
9. Shouyou Yoshida (Gintama)
i. really love shouyou. i love how he adopted all these kids for redeption, i love the struggles he had against himself, i love his speeches and his talk about freedom, i love the influence he has on gin and the others simply because he loved and perhaps he was afraid to do so but he did it anyway, i love that even if he is depicted as the ‘brighest’ of lights it doesn’t mean that he doesn’t have the darkest of shadows, and it doesn’t mean it’s bad.
10. Garnet (Steven Universe)
i like how she is affectionate with steven (also the others, but particularly with steven) and she’s super wise too. i LOVE how she is a relationship and how her thoughts are depicted in canon towards this, and also how she deals with things and the label of ‘leader’ being often thrown at her
special mentions for literally every single gintama character (esp tsukki, zura, shinpachi, sugi, sacchan and uh. everyone), every single su character (esp rose, pearl, amethyst and peridot), gray, lucy and jellal (ft), kairi, riku, saix and axel (kh), kageyama, suga, noya, iwaizumi and honestly everyone else (haikyuu), squall, cloud, tifa, zack, aerith, rinoa (ff), zelda, impa, ganondorf (tloz) and i probs forgot other chars but yeah
as u can see i am particularly weak towards sunshine smiling chars and also their grumpy counterparts who slowly become happy and comfortable around ppl. also am weak for anti heroes and nicely complex chars. in short. i am weak
for misomilk cuz we were talking about akusai roadtrips and isa in stunner shades that lea bought as a joke and isa retaliating by buying lea heartshaped sunglasses that he ends up loving/wearing all the time just to piss isa off.
