“Hey, so I found this weird book in the library today.”
“What do you mean, ‘weird’? Like, human anatomy kind of weird? Because if you did find that, could you get it to me? I need it for my fifth period.”
“Dude, what? No. I found this book, but it doesn’t have a sticker or anything on it, so it’s not even a book from the library.”
“Maybe some kid just left a book in the library? That’s always a possibility.”
“There’s not even a title on the front of it. I can’t get it open, though; there’s some sort of lock on it.”
“So you took some kid’s diary? That’s kind of weird, mate.”
“Shut up! If it is, I’ll put it back where I found it in the library.”
“Before or after you finish reading through it?”
“What the hell, dude, stop!”
“I just wanted to know if you knew how to open it.”
“I mean, sure, I guess. If you bring it around later, then I might be able to get it open. Was there not a key that came with it, or nearby or anything?”
“Not that I saw, but I didn’t look.”
“Yeah, sure, whatever. Bring it over and I’ll try and get it open.”
“You owe me for this, though. Especially if it is just some weird kid’s diary.”
“Mm-hmm. Make sure you bring over snacks when you do.”
“Yeah, okay. See you then.”
