Little Leonie and mama.
And vice versa. @missbarrow
Also at https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=tSx2OSuEzDI I am the only person in the world who gets Leonie and/or Johannes feelings from this song. For me, the line pleading not to be left "in this hole of a place/because what if I never break?" is my story, Witchfinder. These days, I think about how her moral strength can work against her: she can endure a bad situation longer than she should, if she feels it's important. And she can resist temptation longer than is good for her. :-) I love that chanted outro: "that's why I hold you/ that's why I hold you dear." @missbarrow
Super detailed question no. 22
“What are their favourite insults to use? What do they insult people for? Or do they prefer to bitch behind someone’s back?”
Sad to say, Zarenyia’s vocabulary fails her when it comes to invective: witness her addressing the vile Luan Da as “little man,” intensifying to “awful little man” when really insulted. However, “puritan” is not a compliment, nor is “boring” or “dry and tasteless.” Prig, spinster, goody-goody, and spoilsport are also on the list. NB: If she calls you an “uptight, straight-laced prude,” listen to her voice. Is there a certain enthusiasm? Is she edging towards you? You might want to discourage her advances very, very, very tactfully.
Truly, one must look to her endearments to find insult or threat. “Darling” can mean almost anything, but “lover” is a warning, and if you hear it, you should start being very, very charming.
Z. will say anything to anyone’s face, though she will think twice if her life and limb are on the line.
"Oh Victor, sweetheart!" She would wrap her arms about him, holding him tight to her bosom, her golden locks spilling over her shoulders to curtain his face as she presses kisses firmly all over his face as if she might kiss away his bad memories.
He never thought he’d make it to heaven.
Not deep down.
Not with death on his hands, and secrets in his heart, and so much grime on his soul- sick, black tar melted ands spread over the most intimate parts of him, burning and blistering, infecting his blood with the rancid pus left to fester there.
No... heaven wasn’t for men like him. But it seemed like for a moment, he forgot that as a blonde angel pulled him into her chest and showered him with love. He could feel her lips on his skin, her hair brushing over his eyelids, the way she made him feel...
Light.
Forgivable.
Human.

It wasn’t real.
Real was his hands tugging at the tie that suddenly seemed to be choking him. Real was the tears in his eyes and the breath that he couldn’t seem to catch. Real was the sink he clutched at until his knuckles turned white and the cold water that he rubbed into his face.
“Mercy, mercy... I am not a good man... I do not deserve much... but mercy... please have mercy...”
