She isn’t one to panic, really, she’s very good at not panicking. But stairs and a woman with a prosthetic leg don’t go well in the best of conditions (and Juliet is quite confident with them, her cane helps her feel safer and bannisters too), but when the lights go out, that’s a whole other story.
“Oh— shit.” Juliet blinks a few times, unable to see a thing in the pitch dark. Quite a difference from the light pollution that would bleed in through the windows back home. Now there’s just dark, and the sound of the weather outside going on howling. She doesn’t feel safe trying to climb the stairs like this.
Juliet reaches out, carefully, and finds the lesser travelled side of the stairs. She sits down, prepared to wait until someone with a candle, or a lantern or a flashlight comes by and could guide her back to her room and light the emergency lanterns in there for her.
