“I didn’t think you’d show up.”
Raina smiled as she sat down across from the cellist, and reached across the small table to shake the woman’s hand. The buzz of the restaurant filled the air, and Raina’s sharp, dark eyes studied the woman The Clairvoyant had instructed her to meet with. She felt a slight twinge of envy at the woman’s simple beauty. She was so important, so useful, and she had no idea. She wouldn’t even have to do anything but sit back and look pretty… and that, she was already doing.
The strange emotion passed, without visibly displaying itself in Raina’s features. Instead, she simply seemed intent on making the woman across from her as comfortable as possible.
“My name’s Raina. I’m sorry I couldn’t ask you to dinner in person. I hope it wasn’t too… alarming for you.”
