Something off my chest

I'm not trying to get pity or whatever. Just wanna tell my story.

Hey, the name my mother gave me is Taylor Jade Thurston. Although I love this name, it doesn't feel right on my tongue. I like to go by TJ. Nice to meet all of you.

My mother died when I was five and I only have two things that she gave me. My name and a blanket. I live with an angry, short, asian lady and a coast guard veteran. They have taken care of me my whole life and I owe them everything. 

When I first thought something was wrong with me was in 3rd grade, I didn't fit in with other girls in my class. They loved to play with barbies and wear dresses and talk about these knew clips they got for their hair. I thought it was cute. I on the other hand, loved loved LOVED wearing overalls, playing in the dirt and matchbox cars. In all truth, it's common in Maine. Lot's of tom-boys. I didn't thing anything of it.

When I got into 5th grade, I didn't just think something was wrong, I knew. I had crushes on girls more than I did boys. I thought they were cute caring about their hair and clothes and the way they talked about boys. I felt this pang in my chest anytime they talked about boys. I felt jealous, 'Why wont they talk about me like that?' Is what I always thought. 

6th grade was when everything went to shit, my grades went from perfect to rock bottom. I couldn't concentrate and I was depressed all the time. I didn't like myself as much as I use to. I felt wrong and gross inside. I felt broken. Before this if any body would ask how I felt I always said 'I feel like Taylor' but I didn't anymore, I didn't feel like 'Taylor' anymore. 

7th grade was worse, I knew I couldn't talk about this to anyone. Especially not my guardians. All that crap bottled in me was being shaken and ready to be opened and explode. I was sent to therapy for being a danger to myself, I was suicidal. I hated it, I lied to the therapist and said it was all because everything that happened as a kid was finally taking over. My mom dying foster care and my dad not caring. It worked, I pretended to be normal was was eventually taken out of therapy. I was still broken though. 

8th grade came and someone introduced me to tumblr. I was sketchy at first but I warmed up to it, here is where I learned all about Lesbians, Gays, Pans, Bis, Trans*, and Asexuals. I also learned about how gender isn't just boy and girl, it's a spectrum. I learned that I'm Pan with a preference towards girls. 

Now it's Freshman year and I'm not broken anymore. I am a Panromantic Asexual with preferences towards girls. I'm also genderfluid. I still fake everything at home and am open about my sexuality at school, but fake my gender. It still bottled up but the bubbles in that bottle are a lot calmer and will just fizz when opened.

I have a few blogs to thank to help me along the way. missbrostrider, godtie, and xsochangeable. There are a few more but it's mainly them. I want to say thank you. I have realized I'm not just some defect or some broken toy, but I am a person, a human being and I shouldn't be ashamed.
