❅ ⋆ . ꙳ — The night had been rough to say the least, though, this wasn't exactly unusual for Judy's (forced) stay at the Lynxley Manor. The irony of the situation was that Cattrick had unwittingly made Pawbert a SAFE SPACE for Judy in his attempt to punish the rabbit – an effort that at this point, Pawbert was ironically oblivious to. All he knew was that Judy was here, and her being here made the hard days easier to deal with because for the first time in a long time, he wasn't alone.
Pawbert could tell Judy was upset, even before he'd noticed her crying since she went dead silent; he crawled closer to her on the bed, first sitting in front of her before he'd gently pull her closer as not to hurt the little rabbit. Which, given that lynxes were easily ten times larger than rabbits, made being careful a necessity.
❛ I know... I know he stinks, I'm sorry. I'm right here.. and I'll protect you, I'm not gonna let him hurt you again. ❜
He'd speak quietly, kissing her softly as a thumb gently brushed the tears from her cheek. Standing up to his siblings was admittedly something that SCARED Pawbert more often than not, and was never something he'd do on his own behalf. But for Judy, he'd gladly tell Cattrick off, and he has before more than once. His brother didn't understand him loving a rabbit, he never had, and he probably never would.
He'd pull back just enough to let a paw settle on her shoulder, offering a soft smile. Because despite everything, despite his demons or their history, Pawbert Lynxley did love Judy Hopps. He might not be GOOD at it, but he had put his wellbeing on the line in situations it only hurt himself to do so.
❛ You're gonna be safe when you're with me, I promise. ❜
