Rhea snorted. "I would rather continue to work around the gardens instead of playing all noble-like. I'm a better gardener than a princess. More of a witch."
She winked at Hadri before getting on her knees again.
"But it's fun to pretend."
"Yeah, that's what I thought you'd choose," Hadri chuckled. "And I'm not gonna come telling you that you can't act however you want. Ultimately, even if you're not a noble by birth...you kinda are one now. So it doesn't really matter how you behave. Of course, you kind of should try and aspire to ideal noble behavior, but you've seen how most of them are."
Rhea chuckled softly. "I'm a noble by marriage but my husband is still in jail. Still an enemy of the Empire, so to speak. I imagine they're waiting to strip him of any titles left he has. I wouldn't be surprised if we did end up as commoners."
She looked up at Hadri and gave him a wry smile. "I wouldn't mind at all if that part happened."
