A special Call
Emily and Sera are on babysitting Duty, while Adam and Lute along side the other Exorcists Angels go down to hell once more. As you miss your Mommy and Daddah very much, Sera gives you a special Phone, so you ´could call´ your Parents......
"That's it, just one more building block and we've built the most beautiful tower!" - Emily handed you a red building block and the euphoria in her eyes sparkled almost as big as the stars in the night sky.
You reach for the building block very carefully and have to stand on tiptoe to put it on top of the tower.
The building blocks stacked on top of each other aren't actually that high. Only you, at almost 3 years old, aren't really tall.
A little smaller than the other angel children your age.
Mommy always says, that one day you'll gain the strength that you're currently lacking.
You don't know what that means, but you recognize the proud smile on Lute's face every time, you playfully try to reach for one of the well-stored weapons that are naturally kept at your house.
Sera and Emily are babysitting you today. You don't know exactly why Mommy and Daddah are gone all day, but you miss them terribly.
With a quiet sniffle, you pick up the building block Emily hands you and place it on the last remaining block.
"What's wrong? Don't you like the amazing castle? We could embellish it with a little angel magic and use unicorns or teddy bears as decorations?",- Emily strokes your cheek once, noticing the immediate change in your mood.
"No castle… no wanna pway anymore!" - you say, the first tears welling up in your eyes.
"Hey, hey, heeeey little one, no tears oki doki? What can Emily do to make it better?" - Emily was getting worried… you were running around and playing happily for most of the babysitting duty.

"Would you like something to eat? I can make a super delicious PB&J sandwich?"
"No"
"Shall we go for a walk? The weather is so beautiful today and the sun is shining…your parents told me you can already walk like a big kid!"
"No"
"Hmm…oh, I could read to you? The best children's author in heaven has a new book out about a baby unicorn and his friends on a quest for the ice cream boat. You'll definitely love it!"
"Nooooo!"
Emily looks at you, somewhat perplexed, and at that moment the first tears stream down your little cheeks.
"Miss Mommy and Daddah!" - you whimper, and it was the truth. You miss Adam and Lute sooooo much.
"Oh…" - Emily realized the gravity of the situation.
Sera, who had been watching from the kitchen, put her newspaper down and stepped closer to you and Emily.
"Seeera! Me wanna Mommy and Daddah! Miss them! Huuuuuugs!" you whimper, expressing your sadness with another heartfelt sob.
"I am very sorry you miss your parents so much at the moment, young Angel… but they will return in the evening," said Sera, patting your head with a soft smile.
But that didn't help much.
Because no matter what tricks Sera and Emily tried from the babysitting manual for toddlers… your sadness couldn't be completely made to disappear.
Sera finally picked you up while she asked Emily to run the water in the bathtub and prepare a bubble bath… it will certainly calm you down a bit… but the trembling of sadness that ran through your body also shook Sera's heart.
She didn't always approve of all of Lute and Adam's decisions…even when it came to raising you, Sera had to pull herself together and not say anything about what the couple could do differently. Adam, for example, spoils you far too much…you see something on the shopping mile that you want?
Daddah Adam immediately buys five versions of the teddy bear and makes a special tiara to fit you and the teddy.
And Lute? Mama-Bear Protection Mode. If something seems dangerous that your little body can't handle, like a step or the edge of a fountain, you either end up in her arms, in the stroller, or in one of the toddler harnesses, which can be really useful sometimes…but Lute also reinforces it when you hit other children who annoy you on the playground, for example…it's not easy with Adam and Lute.
"Mommy! Daddah!" - you whimper, and Sera has an idea.
"Your parents are going to be happy to see you again tonight, young angel…but what about if we call Adam and Lute and you tell them how much you miss them?"
Your eyes widened. You stopped crying for a moment and looked at Sera for a long moment.
"Sera, call Mommy and Daddah?"
Sera nods and uses her angel magic to conjure up a 'phone'…a toy phone for toddlers.
She pressed a few buttons and then held the phone out to you.
And it was enough to distract you and get you talking into the phone.
"Mommy? Daddah! Miss you lots lots! Kisses…Huggs! LOVE YAAAA! LOTS!"
After a long phone call with your parents, you hand the phone back to Sera.
A smile appeares onto your face.
"Better?" - Sera asks with a motherly smile.
You nod.
That special call helped you.
And you can't wait to tell Mommy and Daddy tonight…and that both Sera and Emily are among your favorite babysitters.
THE END
