Sometimes I think life is like trying to catch the goddamn train. We go through people like we go through turnstiles; sometimes we take the closest one because it seems most convenient. Sometimes we wait in line, and sometimes we go out of our way to go through the farthest turnstile so we don’t have to wait. Sometimes our tickets don’t work and sometimes it turns out that the person in front of us is so careless that they render the turnstile unusable but we try anyway. Sometimes we go through all the right turnstiles and we get to our train five minutes early, and sometimes we prepare and get to the station twenty minutes early but still end up missing the train. Sometimes everything goes right, but we get to the platform and find that we still have no idea where we want to go, or maybe we’re halfway there and realize our destination has changed. Look, I guess what I’m telling you is not to worry— you’ll get on the right train, and you’ll get where you’re going. It might take a lot of turnstiles and a lot of tickets and a lot of redirects, but you’ll get there. Yeah, you’ll get there.
