One year ago, I had to make the incredibly difficult decision to hold my Pippy as he crossed over rainbow bridge at just 11 months old. This incredible #COI community gathered around me in a way that still makes me tear up with love and gratitude when I stop to think about it. Thank you to @azurehollandvet for being there with me when I needed advice and someone to hold me. Thank you to @keystonecats for the love and time you pour into these little souls- I know you felt his loss just as much as I did, but you were beyond supportive and kind to me. Thank you to everyone that donated money to me so that I was able to get him the care and memorial he deserved at a moment’s notice. Finally, thank you to my Boogie Shoes. Two paw prints and a rock urn. My baby Pippy is finally back home. I have enjoyed rubbing the little paw imprints and remembering what they felt like- I always used to bother him and wake him up to rub his toe beans 🙈 I plan to put the rock with his ashes inside out on my patio with some flowers when it gets warmer. Checking in with everyone since so many people have reached out. Things get a little easier everyday for me. I still have my moments of tears, but I also have times at work when I can escape and feel some normalcy. Walker has definitely taken it the hardest. Pip was his play buddy when lazy grandpa Bill was only interested in cuddles and sleeping. It has been a consistent stream of meowing. I’m sure he’ll adjust, but I know he misses those sweet snuggles and naughty pounces as much as I do 💕 I know I keep saying this, but I truly appreciate each and every one of you. I don’t want to dwell on sadness, but I am where I am... and I think that’s ok.
