Learning to Love Chapter 127 Mission End
A/N Deals with military violence
“Okay, we are going to fast rope down, one Team on each side. Delta and the others will come through the doors. We come through the windows. Flash bang every entrance. Take out the terrorists. Try not to kill any hostages.” Marcus briefs his Team.
“Alright Boss.” Chorus' back.
“Tex Cowboy stay alert.”
“We have you covered Boss.”
“We go in ten.”
“Yes Boss.”
Michelle is contentedly nursing. Ella had ran down to the store to get some newborn diapers. Mary had asked to be brought back into the living room. They all sit and watch the continuing coverage.
“Something is about to happy.” Mary reports,” the energy has changed.”
“She is right. Look. They are moving.”
Daniel and Liam, you will enter from the third floor window. Jose and I have the forth.” They will enter from the east side, protected by their own men.
“Yes Boss.”
“Still clear Tex?”
“Yes Voss. No sign of any activity. Shades still down.”
“Okay. We are about to wake them up. Stay vigilant.”
“10-4.”
“Okay men. Let's go.”
The wives watch the helicopter come into view. From the angle of the TV cameras, they can see their husbands fast rope down the east side of the building and kick the windows in.
“What are they doing?” Amy asks
“Entering the building in the most expedient way possible,” Tonya calmly replies.
“I don’t see Willy?”
“You won't. He's covering them. Him and Mike.” Mary informs her.
“It is almost over.” Ella softly says.
Daniel and Liam enter, throwing flash bang grenades ahead. A floor up, Marcus and Jose' do the same. “Get down on the floor! Now!” they yell to the stunned hostages.
“Move and die!” a voice says given Daniel his first target. He calmly places a bullet in his head and his buddies return fire. The hostages drop, cover their heads and scream.
With the windows kicked open and the blinds tore down, Willy and Michael also have targets. Willy takes out two of the terrorists before they can tell what hits them. Daniel and Liam, two more. They turn to fire and one of the bullets hits Daniel in the leg. He drops and Willy and Liam get the shooter. The room is clear.
“Room clear, but Chief was hit.” Liam reports. “Need help clearing the hostages.”
“Where was he hit.” Marcus voice is calm.
“In the leg. Send someone so I can check on him.”
“On the way.”
Liam holds everyone under cover until they can be cleared. Daniel sits in the corner of the room. He has applied a tourniquet above the place he was shot and holds his with his other hand, helping Liam cover the hostages.
“Team One has the other floor. We will clear, check on Chief.” Marcus orders as he and Jose enters.
“Yes Boss.” Liam hurries to Daniel.
“Who are you doing Chief?”
“Been better. Grace is going kill me for letting myself get shot.”
“Well, lets make sure she gets that chance.” Liam cuts away Daniel’s pants leg and checks on the shot. “Through and though. Looks like it hit a bone though.”
“Lovely,” Daniel sarcastically says
Marcus and Jose', with the able assistance of the Canadians, soon have the hostages cleared. Liam temporarily bandages Daniel’s leg and gives him an antibiotic and pain shot. They clear they room and carry him out.
The wives sit and watch as the hostages appear, greeted by cheers and applause. They watch the Teams come out. They watch for their husbands.
“There they are. They are carrying someone.” Mary.reports.
Grace immediately recognizes Daniel in the arms of Jose and Marcus.
“Daniel! He is hurt!” She startles the baby who had been sleeping.
“He is conscious. See?” Amy reassures her friend
She watches as he moves around in the arms of his Teammates, his Brothers. They carry him to the ambulance.
“They will let you know as soon as they can.” Tonya tells her. “It will be okay.

Everything had gone completely dark, for roughly minutes. That was more than enough time for ANYTHING to go wrong, horribly fast. Melfrand was big enough that seconds in carelessness could spell disaster.
He couldn't hear.
He couldn't see.
He couldn't feel his surroundings.
That was more than enough time. Time for things to go awry. Hopefully, when things return to normal, everything would be fine and he could go back to lining his shot that he was supposed to take. A blur of noise indicated to the gator that things were coming back. A visual blur further confirmed hope was here.
What sight Melfrand was offered told another story. He was nowhere near where he was supposed to be, and his allies had a very shocked look on their face.
Sounds were flooding back in his ears. A cacophony of murmurs accompanied with expressions of shock. From the little he managed to properly catch, he had made a terrible mistake.
He felt things again. His foot was on something.
No...
Not something...
Someone.
He had crushed a civilian THIS group were in the process of helping.
When he realized what he had done, he fled the scene. All that his allies could tell was that he was whimpering. It was consensus among the people there...
It had to be an accident.
It had to be...
