🧊🦦Pass the otter pops—it’s World Otter Day!

The last Wednesday of May is a yearly celebration of otters, raising awareness and inspiring people around the world to help protect these irreplaceable aquatic mammals. 

This year we’re showing up to the party with lots of love for our resident southern sea otters and the exceptional team that makes sure our girls are happy, healthy, and ready for their close up! 

Opal, Ivy, Selka, Suri, and Willow are all on exhibit together right now, but that’s not always the case—for a great reason. 💙

All of our non-releasable resident otters sometimes spend time behind the scenes as part of our Sea Otter Program. We aim for our resident otters to also serve as surrogate mothers to orphaned otter pups, raising them with the skills and behaviors they need for a second chance at life in the wild. 🥹

Today, almost 300 rescued southern sea otters of all ages have been released back to their ocean home after being cared for in our Sea Otter Program, helping restore their populations and revive the beautiful coastal habitats they call home. 🦦🌊 There’s wonder in ocean life and caring for it helps us all.

Hitmanfam question time!

Spring cleaning at 47's safehouse. Who does what? Who is helpful? Who is genuinely of help, intentions nonwithstanding? Who gets sent out of the house on a loooooong errand so that everything will be done before the return?

(47 does almost everything, Olivia wants to help but cleans like me, picking up one task that leads to another room, immediately forget old task and start new task that leads to another room, ad infinitum; Diana thinks his house doesn't need extra cleaning but still assists. Lucas has been sent to return library books, buy non prishables, collect dry cleaning, go to the DIY store and so on. Alternatively, 47 sent him to get a thing that does not exist, Lucas figured it out after 5 minutes and purposefully spent the day in a bar or something)

Oh nooooo I completely forgot to check Tumblr again 😔💔

But oh boy, I reckon 47 would do everything on his own. Secretly, I reckon he’d accuse the others of not cleaning 'properly'. I reckon he’s the sort who cleans everything very thoroughly. And that he prefers it when no one’s in the house whilst he’s cleaning. But if that’s not the case, Diana and Olivia probably held a cleaning cloth for two seconds until he’ll quickly sit them down on the sofa and politely thank them for their help, only to carry on by himself.

Lucas is in the bar. Definitely. And that's fine by him, because... cleaning, ew. (he is clean, but not 47 clean)

He comes home slightly tipsy and naively walks right into the kitchen with his muddy shoes on.

The next day, he's been made to mop the floor. 47 watches him.

How much time you took to make Playground?

Like each of them

Oh, I can't say exactly, because I had to take breaks in between.

But generally, the timeframes were as follows:

I started Playground 1 in November and actually finished it by the end of December, so just around 1 month.

I started Playground 2 right away in January and finished it in mid-February, so just about 1.5 months.

I started Playground 3 in mid-March and finished it completely by mid-May, because that part was longer than the others, so it took me two months.

I started drawing Playground 4 at the end of July and didn't finish it until the end of September, so again, two months!

In total, I spent around 6 months drawing Playground, with breaks in between :)

Creating the complete volume for printing then took another month or so, because I drew extra artwork for it.

47 infiltrates the catering, it's quick and easy, no one knows who you are, you can poison people – perfect

Diana is probably so smooth that she can attach herself to anyone just by being charming, and no one questions it. The role of the random companion, perfect for overhearing intimate conversations! And maybe getting a few secrets out of one or two people. Stealing documents or spiking someone's drink...

Olivia is at the bar mixing drinks. Or she pretends to be part of the florist's team and is still handing out the last flowers. I can also imagine her as a waitress who deliberately drops a glass of red wine – oops! Now someone has to go to the bathroom to change... Perfect opportunity, right?

Well, Lucas would rather not be there at all, but what can you do, right? (If he's not the bride, because it's a wild game of fake wedding and intrigue, then he's probably the driver or something - a job that's far away from the actual wedding haha)
