sadie has a christmas present for @pugpicker and @misslancelot
it's sadie's favourite time of the year again! but for the first time, she's not with her family. she's not surrounded by the white walls of her parents' estate, nor the exposed brick walls of her grandparents town house, she's alone sitting at the wooden floor of her flat staring at all this wrapping paper she's bought, along with decorated boxes, bows and crafting tools she'd need in order to make this work.
the only contradiction on this is that sadie davenport is not as crafty as she'd like to think, and she's definitely not as crafty as she'd like other people to think so she's got her laptop open beside the tools and a youtube tutorial on how to wrap christmas gifts on the screen, to give her a north on this.
she's also not as good at gift giving as she'd like to be, especially considering just how much she likes people and how much she likes to spoil the ones she cares about. so what she lacks in creativity, she compensates with quantity.
for eggsy, she's got two boxes.
the first one is round and black with little stars painted on, to represent the dark and deep space; it contains three stacked hats, just like those horrible ones he likes to wear, except they're better – at least in her opinion. they are a promise for the next time he's in town for more than a week, and it is a promise that she means to make a tradition of. her final touch is a blue bow on top, not much else she dares to do.
the second box is rectangular and slightly taller than two of the first one on top of each other. inside, already folded neatly, there are three throw blankets piled on top of each other – all three have a common motif, one very close to eggsy's heart and that not even sadie could go wrong with. this one she wraps with the christmas tree printed paper that she's folded before, following the instructions from the video to the letter and a golden bow on top as a finishing touch.
for roxy, sadie's been at loss of what to buy.
her feelings for the knight had been very clear from day one, but her work never allows sadie enough time to properly get to know roxy. to ask roxy out. to wine and dine roxy. the clerk doesn't know all that much about her, so she tries something else... no jewelry or clothes, she goes for the cuteness factor and if the other woman doesn't like it, she can always exchange it and sadie will not be offended, she'll take it as an excuse to get to know her better.
so she starts with one small box and a candle. not a scented one, mind you, because that could go wrong in so many ways. the box is wrapped similarly to eggsy's, since she already had the paper folded from her first attempt with the bigger one.
the next box is slightly bigger and isn't something she can return or exchange, because it is customized – she could give it to harry or merlin as a gag gift though, since that's what this is. a gag gift.
the last one is not in a box because it's a book, well, two books wrapped together. and sadie isn't the most subtle person in the world with her mistletoe printed wrapping paper.
and of course that because sadie is sadie, there are two medium sized boxes for their dogs – in them, there are christmas jumpers for both of them, along with a proper festive hat and two illuminated leashes. both wrapped on christmas hats printed paper.
sadie leaves the gifts beneath her artificial tree, cleans up the mess she made (properly addressed and everything) and goes to take a shower, to get ready. she's decided to show up for christmas dinner at her parents' estate – she's even getting to drive her car again for this! – but that means she probably won't be around to see them on christmas day, so sadie leaves a note stuck to her front door, and leaves with a small packed bag.
‘don't worry, this is not a ransom note. i was not kidnapped or any of the terrible things that have crossed your minds. but mum invited me home for christmas dinner, and i elected to go. you two have my permission to break in to get your christmas gifts, i hope you like them. happy christmas, see you soon!’
