Meet the #MissDelaware Contestants: Chelsea Bruce

Talent: Contemporary Dance, “To Build a Home"
Interesting Fact: I’ve performed in the Nutcracker with a New York City Ballet prima ballerina.
What you are looking most forward to for Miss DE week: It’s hard to pick what I’m most excited for. However, if I must, I will have to say the appearances. I enjoy the opportunities I am given as a titleholder to meet new people.
I am a junior Political Science and Economics double major with a double minor in Legal Studies and Political Communication. I am an aspiring attorney and would consider myself a social justice activist. I believe that in order to move forward, everyone must be in a position to do so. Therefore, we need to lift up those who are often forgotten and left behind to ensure they are also in a position to make progress. I chose my platform specifically because I believe the mental health community has been left out of the conversation in the last few years and as a result I have lost too many people to mental illness. I am pleased to see several celebrities and programs open the dialogue regarding mental illness in the past few months. But, I digress. I thoroughly enjoy being my best self.
For me, the perfect day consists of an early morning gym session, followed by completing all my tasks for the day, being dressed like what I call a real person (a.k.a not wearing my gym clothes all day after my workout), and having the time to catch up with my favorite Youtubers — side note I’ve actually considered starting my own Youtube channel; I am that obsessed. If I were to start my own Youtube channel it would probably be a random collection of things from vlogs, workouts, to makeup. I guess you would consider that a lifestyle channel.
