some of my favourite letterboxd reviews for Two People Exchanging Saliva (2024)
difficult to describe how it feels being somewhere in public and suddenly hearing a familiar dialect when you're in a country where it's not native. makes me wanna do something stupid like walk up to a stranger and say hi because they unlocked the deep, joyful and bittersweet yearning in me by just discussing the weather with their friend. unparalleled experience
yes, the US has been and will continue to be a global militaristic superpower fueled by imperialism, evangelical values and pure capitalism, and in that context it is largely irrelevant whether there's a Democrat or a Republican in the White House
but also; yes, inside the US, Trump winning is a horrific threat to reproductive rights, immigrant rights, lgbtq and particularly trans rights, and for many marginalised or vulnerable communities in general, and don't even get me started on climate change policies
and both of these takes can and should coexist, empathy is not a zero sum game
hello! here's a random question (and look! on sunday! as they were intended to 🤣), since the winter holiday season is upon us, do you decorate for the holidays? Or do you have any random knick knacks around and about? If you do decorate, what do you like to put on the most? 😊 any special color schemes?
glitter!!! gracias por la preguntaaaa! 🥰
tbh as an atheist and a child of divorce i'm not the biggest christmas enthusiast hahahah so i rarely decorate - i'm also not the biggest decorator in general. (having too much... stuff around stresses me out)
what i do insist on though is an advent calendar - doesn't have to be a big one, but having a tiny piece of chocolate (or snack or little present) every day dec 1-24 is a nice ritual. also it's mandarin season 🍊 and i'm OBSESSED with them so i always have a few of those lying around. oh and i enjoy german gingerbread christmas "cookies" a lot - i found some here in Spain and introduced some Latin friends to them, that was lovely ☺️
in case you weren't asked this already - what about you? 😊
snolitics (snail politics)
the sheer scale of my sudden optimism just because the sun is out today is hilarious. others have made this joke before but i truly do have the emotional complexity of a big leaf. executive dysfunction? don't know her. i am a new man
something something the mortifying ordeal of wanting to be wanted
ich muss sagen, nach ewiger Zeit wieder ganz klassisch Viagra-Werbung auf tumblr zu bekommen fühlt sich fast schon nostalgisch an
